I think I've finally decided what I want to work on the most and I'm at peace with it. Today while I was working and had a bit of time, I doodled some rough sketches trying to update a new uniform for the character I decided on. I've also been trying to come up with the preview story for it. I know how I want the story to go, I just don't know how to open it up. Typically I'd have let this go by now and it would be really easy for me to do, but I'm trying to give myself plenty of room and just tell myself any progress is progress and therefore I continue to tinker with ideas.

Earlier today I had some time and spent a little bit of it devoting it to drawing a costume update. Following up on a little idea I had yesterday, I made a better version of it today, Still didn't like some elements of it though and will continue with it on the drawing board. In the meantime, I happened upon my last attempt at drawing a comic where I had completed 2 and a half pages of pencils. I know that doesn't seem like anything, but even one page can be a lot of work if you're not used to doing it. I skimmed the pages over and determined that they were usable for what I was trying to do. I could see where I could stand to fix thing a bit in a few of the panels, but otherwise, they were worthy of keeping and putting toward the project. This would have been pages for my 3rd idea. So out of 3 I'm currently juggling, I feel like I have 2.5 pages, another with me going through costume attempts, and another with nothing drawn yet, but a story which has been in my head for years. So I'm feeling pretty good about the progress so far. I may not have a lot going for the project yet, but I am keeping myself thinking just do it and any progress is good progress.

Start writing the ideas down on paper. Otherwise you will forget them. Also, I find that writing the ideas down, allows me to look at all of them at once and usually come up with a better idea from all of the parts.

I've been writing down notes for years even though I haven't done anything with them. It also helps weed out ideas that don't seem as good with a fresh set of eyes months later. df1
