Just seen over at CGC that Dan Adkins died.
I have to admit that I never really thought or even remembered who he was but once you see his work, he is both memorable and his work is very solid. Some great examples over at CGC got put up. Truly awesome stuff that I would prefer over a lot of work coming out today.
I haven't seen a news thread on it yet and if I do, I might bring it over here. But, thought it was worth mentioning.
Dan Adkins, Most notable work as artist on Dr. Strange when it became it's own title in the Strange Tales title, has died.
RIP

I guess I own some comics with his art (or at least his inking) and didn't know it. df1

Then when you realize he was the artist for Dr. Strange #169 and a few others from that era, and you realize he is perhaps one of the most uncelebrated artists with a key comic from that time frame. Some of the people were posting some of his work and inked original art pages over at CGC and some of it was just awesome! Especially some horror pages I seen. Dude truly was meant for greater moments. Must be a story there somewhere of how he got into and eventually faded out of comics. He seems very unappreciated.
