That is so true. Those that read the Vf board regularly know that I'm troublemaker #1 when it comes to VEI. I've spoken out against them on numerous occasions. Most recently their treatment of Layton and Leeke. And other events. They can't boot me from the site because of the reputation I have over there. But I have been asked to "Leave". Support VEI no matter what shit they put out. Support VEI no matter who's back they stab along the way. Support VEI no matter how bad the fuck up Shooter original vision of VALIANT. Yeah, right. Fall in line, or get out. What the hell has happened over there? Did Greg just say the hell with it,and let ZWH take charge? To me that's what it looks like. Things change I guess. I really felt like a part of that site a few years ago. These days,I don't even know why I post there. The board has to have regular members posting or conversation will go below the critical mass to maintain discussion. ZWH provides content for people to read whether it's popular or not. I think a board needs about 4 people posting at gowaltrip's frequency here in order to entice traffic to visit. cfs

Im in shock. Things changed after VEI took control of the site. Funny. Marvel fans can criticize Marvel. DC fans can criticize DC. Valiant fans.......Don't criticize VEI, they walk on water.

He has written this real winner! www.superverse.com/CoedDorm/coed_book.pdfI'll be honest. I think the whole company was created to be a misdirection for the public so that he could be a stalkng horse bidder to drive up the sale price on two companies. I think it was also an ineffective foot in the door attempt to get noticed in Hollywood. Regardless of how nice John is, do you think Crossgen or Valiant would have sold for as much as it did if he was not in the running to acquire them? Most people who acheive a high profile do not mingle and cater to the fans as he did. They have more important things to do. I'm sure he's gone back to doing those more important things. cfs Ok,I stopped after the guy was going to show his crabs. Thanks. A nice guy maybe.A smart businessman....No. I didn't get that far. I don't think John should explore anymore writing tasks. cfs

Sure, there can be more. It can be faster at times. But, Im not discouraged either. There is generally enough to keep things moving and on track. Ive always felt that about 7 frequent posters with a few chiming in here and there, makes a good board. Some boards feel too big to me and I feel a post is nothing and seen by hardly anybody. I wouldnt mind being a bit bigger...but its a careful what I wish for situation too. Im happy with things as they are.

Not the case over there.
Funny. Members over there that I helped with their Valiant collections will not have anything to do with me anymore because of criticism that I threw at VEI.
During the whole Layton/Leeke fiasco only two members came to my defence after I posted that I would not be buying any product that VEI puts out till they publicly acknowledge that Bob and Mike have been paid in full for their work on the XO HC.
I'll say it again...Mindless fools who view VEI through rose colored glasses.

I'll say it again...Mindless fools who view VEI through rose colored glasses. Here's another thing that people like to misinterpret about me. I agree 100% with what you said. Bob and Mike should be compensated fairly and get paid before fans spend any money on what VEI sells. Other people will probably chime in and say "Whose side are you on?" because I criticize Bob for what he did to Jim Shooter back in 1992. The truth is that I'm on the side of what's right. In any disagreement there are shades of gray. You never see me insult Bob's inking. He's one of the best in the industry. I've never criticized Mike Leeke's work because he too is a very talented artist. I will criticize Bob's character because he took something another man wrote, assisted in firing him, and ruined an entire product line. I point my finger at that. I'm not saying Jim is a saint. He probably isn't. He didn't however deserve having 65 million dollars worth of intellectual properties taken from him. So yeah... I'll agree. Bob should be compensated. Two wrongs never make something right. I would have a lot of respect for Bob if he sent Jim an open letter and apologized to him and the fans for what transpired in 1992. Not some fluffy "yeah, yeah if that makes you happy" apology. I mean a sincere and honest one. I don't happen to believe he had a malicious intent at the time it transpired. I believe he took advantage of the situation and has justified it in his mind because of the positive reenforcement others have laid in his lap. It is not justified in my mind. Jim may not even want an apology, but you don't apologize to someone because they want to hear it. You apologize to someone because it's the right thing to do if you have wronged them. I learned that lesson quite vividly when I lost someone I loved. An apology was the last thing they read from me. I think Bob owed Jim a little more than he gave Jim then. Popular or unpopular, that's how I feel. cfs
