Not sure what to think about this one yet. Spiderman has been toyed with so much for so long, that it has become one of Marvel's characters that I care the least about. I have no idea what is going on with Spidey these days except what people post. You've probably heard Spidey is on a six issue storyline called 'New Ways To Die.' The first two issue have had strong reviews. I'm curious to see if this issue, number 569, is sold out at local stores. I'll probably check a few stores in Phoenix today. eBay's biggest new comic seller, horizoncomics, doesn't seem to have ordered heavily on it at all, and hasn't listed an issue for sale since the 27th. I certainly want a copy of the book regardless. I cannot remember if I ordered it or not. Hopefully I did. Regardless of how I feel about the current state of Spiderman, I love all comics and comics news in general, so thanks for providing some news to all of us! It's much appreciated!

I do spend more time than I should checking out the new comic market. For some reason this book reminded me of Ultimate Spider-Man 33, the first Ultimate Venom, when I ordered it, and I have a good quantity coming. The whole Brand New Day storyline reminds me of Ultimate Spider-Man in some ways.

I think part of the reason why that "Brand New Day" is not working out is not due to why it was started but HOW it was started. The whole deal-with-the-devil-to-end-the-marriage-just-to-reset-the-status-quo-was a terrible idea to begin with. And when JMS stated that he even was thinking of asking to have his name removed from the credit box and publicly stating that he thought it was handled the wrong way and how Joe Quesada replied to his statements pretty much damned the story line. At least in JMS' version would have at least made some logical sense other than Quesada's reportedly crack "That because it's magic it doesn't have to make sense and we don't have to explain it." This isn't the 60s/70s anymore Joey Q and that kind of stupid fanboy shit has gotten more characters royally fucked up over the past decade than a horny man taking Viagra at a whore house. I also get the feeling that most fans in general felt that this whole mess isn't a big deal it would be like House of M it would forgotten or thrown out in no time. My personal feeling is that the age group that regularly buys The Amazing Spider-Man (25-40 year old males) don't want a college kid Spidey they wanted to see Spidey as a young adult who they can relate too. I mean the whole reason behind the switch and bait of Peter Parker and Ben Reily in the infamous Clone Saga was to make Spidey cool to younger readers again and we all remember that how turned out. Marvel needs to use The Ultimate Spider-Man for the younger crowd and use the 619 Spider-Man for the older crowd. Either that or it just sucks. It seems that after about 5 years of putting Spider-Man back together after the Clone Saga, Marvel has fucked up the character again.

Yep, the way they set up BND was pretty weak and seems to be the main bone of contention amongst those who don't like the stroyline.

I havent and dont even read it and I hate it. I hated what cyberstrike said about it. Sounded confusing enough right there and Im sure he understands it, but its like Spidey for different age groups? bah!!! I also seen this obvious Mary Jane persona Ive been seeing in Previews....I think she was calling herself "Lucky Day" or something corny like that. She had a 777 belt on. Is Mary Jane now a hero? ?? Or is this a funny idea for lingerie in bed for Peter Parker? I keep thinking Spidey has sunk to new lows and it seems they find more room at the bottom. Does anyone remember when Spidey was a easy to understand and love Good Book? You know I hate to say it, but I think Easy Reader says Spidey Super Stories are Easy to Read and I'm thinking they're probably a lot better these days too!

There's a character called Jackpot and it seems that is Mary Jane, but that's unofficial at this point. I'm not overly enthralled with Brand New Day myself, but issue 569 has a huge event, at least imo and many people are missing it due to avoiding Brand New Day.

That looks like the hot one to me. Plus $4 shipping. So $9 to buy a comic that came out Wednesday....
Not bad.

I knew it was a play off the "This must be your lucky day because you just hit the Jack-Pot Tiger" That just flat out sucks....
