Didn't they originally publish Howard Chaykin's infamous 12 issue Black Kiss maxi-series?
I just bought the new Black Kiss hardcover from Dynamite and all I can say is: holy shit.

Found this on Wikipedia. This says it was Vortex comics.... In 1988, Chaykin created perhaps his most controversial title: Black Kiss, a 12-issue series published by Vortex Comics which contained his most explicit depictions of sex and violence yet. Telling the story of sex-obsessed vampires in Hollywood, Black Kiss pushed the boundaries of what could be shown in mainstream comics. Even though Black Kiss shipped sealed in an "adults only" clear plastic bag, its content drew much criticism. This did not stop it from selling well, however, and it became one of the most successful independent comics of the tim

I bought two copies of this series when it came out. One to read and one to keep in the black bags. Crazy assed book also.
