I often find when I go to check out at a comic store, there is usually 2-4 things sitting by the cash register meant to be promotion giveaways and throwaways. I know throughout my collecting life, I would pick one up and take it home and by the next day it was in the trash. Now Im just the opposite. I try and pick that stuff up and keep it. The same thing at conventions. Little trinkets that are usually nothing and desired by nobody often become things Im glad I got years down the line.
Does anybody else keep this kind of stuff? Have any stuff you want to share? Show it here.

Last time I was at a comic shop, this was sitting there and I picked one up. This really is meant as trash and it is trash for the foreseeable future. But its stuff like this that start meaning stuff to me years down the road. Right now, it really does mean nothing.

I was walking around Charlotte Con this year and I dont remember when and where I picked this up, but I wanted to have it, so I took it home. This is something years from now, I will like a lot more than I like now.

Here's a good example. It feels like yesterday since I picked this up off a comic counter for free. At the time I knew nothing about this series or anything. It could have easily been a throwaway. And maybe should have been. But now its 2 years later and the book it was promoting went on to be a big success. That's when things like this become pretty cool.

I just don't have space to be saving all the free stuff.

I just don't have space to be saving all the free stuff. This would slide into any comic with a bag and board.

Slide a real comic in the bag and board. Put the promo piece on the back side. Like this Dark Tower card. If you had a Dark Tower comic, it would go great with the comic. Same thing with the Lady Death, which is an actual collectible card. Put the card with a Lady Death comic.... It's junk now, its junk for the foreseeable future. But let 10 - 20 years go buy and pull this stuff out. Thats when it becomes cool as shit in my opinion. Because then it becomes almost rare. And if the book in question did well, it becomes desirable. And thats why I have this section here. I want to see what people have kept. Any and everything that can be considered a promo, I want to show up here. And maybe a long time from now, this will be a cool ass thread.
