What's going on with Daredevil? I've been seeing some pictures of him looking like a Dark Daredevil and morphed into a real badass and maybe even a bad guy as part of this new Shadowland series. I have to admit when I seen that Shadowland series was coming out I kinda yawned at it and didn't think twice about it, but then I seen a few pics of Daredevil and have to admit, without wanting to, I kind of liked it.
What's up???

I think that Daredevil is now the new leader of The Hand (the same group of mystical ninjas that IIRC trained and brought Elektra back to life) and is now planning to rid NYC of corruption and evil by any means necessary.
I'm so not interested in Shadowland and Curse of the Mutants because they're a "crossover" with only ONE ongoing series involved and that is Daredevil and X-Men and the rest is bunch of mini-series and one-shots.
These are are storylines that should just be told in Daredevil and X-Men and not crossovers/events that chances are will have little or no impact outside their respective titles.

Thanks for the clarity Cy. I certainly agree with the above assessment. The other titles in the series only look to be there as a money grab. I think you are correct that they would have been stronger remaining exclusively in their own title. But this is a different time and that kind of thinking for one title seems to be lacking these days.

I know the concept of turning bad is no where near original, nor is this the greatest of pictures, but overall, I'm kinda digging this Dark Daredevil look. Daredevil has been needing some pizazz for awhile now and this seems at least enough to make me wanna look. I'd have to say given the times, that's all I can ask.

First, he didn't go bad. He took over the hand and because they must remain loyal to him, they do his bidding. Since the Kingpin is gone, DD has named himself the 'NEW' Kingpin and is using the Ninja's to help keep order.
Unfortunately for him, all of those -unrelated books- are actually part of the DD family of titles because they deal with the street level characters. Characters who do not trust the hand at all and therefor are skeptical about DD.
I think they are going to kill Murdock at the end of this because they are already advertizing that there will be a new Man without fear patroling Hells Kitchen. There are a number of potentials, including Gambit, Iron Fist, Powerman, Moon Knight and even Nova.

I'm not saying that those characters aren't related to DD, but none of them are ONGOING series, all these books will end before or around time the last issue of Shadowland. They kill Murdock off and they will bring him back in about 2 years so why bother doing it? The guy writing X-Men has stated that he wants to have Gambit in that series and Moon Knight is a member of The Secret Avengers.

That is why I have this "What's happening now" section going, because it gives a chance for those who know what is happening to fill others in that don't know.......like me. I haven't been keeping up too much with Daredevil lately. I got the Lady Bullseye issues a long while ago and that was so-so at best. Than recently I got a Daredevil/Cage I think it was called something like Cage Match. That was the stupidest story ever. That could have been a Spidey Super Story. So at least your synopsis sounds a bit interesting. You gotta admit though, seeing DD with Spidey and other characters laid out like he dusted them off sure does make him look like he turned dark. I think they are going to kill Murdock at the end of this because they are already advertizing that there will be a new Man without fear patroling Hells Kitchen. There are a number of potentials, including Gambit, Iron Fist, Powerman, Moon Knight and even Nova. That whole quote made me cringe. I'm not interested in any of that. Sometimes comics just have no sacred ground. And at the same time it makes you wanna puke is also sometimes what makes comics great. Because they strike a nerve one way or another. But honestly, that whole comment just about pissed me the fuck off. I hope none of that shit happens. I would rather see a Dark Daredevil kicking ass than to see Matt Murdock killed off and replaced with a fanboy special scenario.

Sales drop after convention season. It's more manipulation of fans. Rather than print a few poor selling issues, they cancel it and then go for a little marketing push on his return. It gets them over the hump at a bad time of the year. df1
