The greatest living Artist doing comics today.
That is a serious statement of a serious man. His work panel for panel is so far beyond anyone else that there can be no comparison.
when I was in the 4th grade around 1974, I was tracing over his pages from the Avengers. He was actually the first Artist I copied and tried to emulate. I even think that touches of Perez still exist in my style today.
I can never get bored pouring over his work. A true Master.

Yeah, I never really get criticism of Perez. If he ain't your bag, I think that's one thing. But acting like he doesn't deserve to be considered THAT great.....I just don't get it. If you don't like it...fine. But damn, you gotta admit, he's one of the Legends of comics!

George has been posting for a long time now that one of his eyes has some kind of serious issue and causing him trouble. Hes been battling with laser surgery procedures but they never did him any good. About a month ago he announced that he had to revert to an eye patch and just this week he announced that the doctors told him that laser surgery was no longer an option for him. So now he is going to have to undergo conventional surgery. He stated he is in fear that the condition will spread to his other eye and threaten his drawing career. In the meantime, he cancelled some convention appearances while remaining with others. Ive noticed in the last couple of years his art is still top notch but showing signs of having less details than before. That being said, he still draws better than most. I hope he comes through this okay and continues his contract work. I think it would be a shot in the arm for the anti establishment group, if Perez can do great legitimate work while under his exclusive contract.

I think it would be a shot in the arm for the anti establishment group, if Perez can do great legitimate work while under his exclusive contract. I was aware of this. He was always one of the better artists back when I was first collecting comics. I want him to get better for his own sake. The establishment doesn't care how much better Perez's work is. All they care about is making a profit and how little they could spend to get it. They don't even care about how many potential sales they threw away. df1
