What's hot? Well you can always ask me because I'm always interested in that specific topic. Revival #1 is still pretty hot. Uncanny X-Men #266 1st Gambit is for some reason back up in the hot category. I think it's because the new X-Men prequel movie showed Gambit in it somewhere. Amazing Spider-Man #678 MJ Venom Variant is not a legitimate $1k book in CGC 9.8. Well you can always spread the word over here dude! Good to see you again whet and we hope to see you more. And if so, pick up an avatar so we can see that personality or know the person at a quick glance. Glad to hear that Gambit is going back up. I might sell one of mine if that is the case. Don't know about the Spider-Man #678 Variant. 1K? Really???

Now would be the time to sell an X-Men #266. I'm seeing two or three pop up on the market over at Lyria each week.
1k for sure if it's CGC 9.8. Otherwise you only get $300 or $400. ;D

Probably a freebie in some other deal I made. df1

Looks like Thief of Thieves is still pretty hot. I've seen multiple sets being sold on eBay for $100+ and they keep showing up on the market. Wish I would have bought more copies of each book but with moderns, one is enough and you just have to make a judgement call of when to sell. Still.... ;D

Although I don't have much interest in actually reading new comics, I do have an interest in speculating and making money on new comics if I can. That's why this kind of stuff is so valuable. Thanks and keep it coming if you will! Now that I'm getting ready to go back to work, I will be looking for ways to make money, because all working is doing for me at the moment is allowing me to be broke respectfully, but I am going to be broke. Therefore, I need to maximize what I do and where I can make money. So I will try and pay more attention to what is making money these days and see if there are times I can cash in on it. For those who love this kind of stuff, I would recommend you check out whet's awesome message board which is totally devoted to this kind of thing and who I check out for my own ideas. There is a link at the top of the page, but in case you're lazy, go here... lyriacomicexchange.com/phpBB/index.php....You'll get more of these kind of nuggets than you can handle. Keep em coming whet! I appreciate it! Now I have a question. I've noticed for the last couple of years, it seems like when a comic gets hot and makes speculator money, it seems very often to be an Image comic. Why the hell is that???

So this week it's all been about Batgirl #13. Apparently it was under ordered and it has the "Death in the Family" prologue cover. People are going gaga over it. I bought a couple of copies from my LCS and flipped them on eBay the same day for $14 a copy. Madness!

Just for clarification, what's up with this death in the family deal? Are they rehashing that? Although I havent purchased anything new in a long time I'm always up to look and deal in speculation. It has the potential to get me back in if things are going good. I know for purists that is the wrong reason but for me it's quite alright.

From what I can tell it a combination of short supply to LCS and the start of the death in the family prologue story line so its just good old fashion supply and demand.

I can't help but feel that there will be more supply and demand issues in the future as stores close and there simply aren't enough comics out in the market for the comics fan that tries to hoard comics that are a fad. It's easy to bump orders on a company wide 52 title reboot. It's not easy to catch the comics that become popular with the ebb and flow of actual story-lines. When the market comes up short, people will either overpay and possibly get frustrated over the store not having what they want at cover price. I am sure that stores will have to watch their order numbers even more closely than they did in the past. due to the higher unit cost and fast depreciation.
