Starting in May, CGC is raising prices. So if you wanted to get a submission in at current price levels you need to make sure it has an April postmark. Seems most people feel the price increases are minor, but the one major beef most of having is they no deem the "Modern" tier from 1980 - present instead of 1975 - present. So most feel like the collector who likes to slab books from 1975 - 1979 (mid-late Bronze), just got screwed with a big increase. Some feel this will slow down submissions from that era. I will list a summary of the changes in the next message of this thread. If anybody wants to discuss the impact, please do.

I haven't had a book graded in a long time. I really don't know if I truely trust their grading. I think the best thing about them are the cases the books are put in.
Do they say why they are upping the price?

I haven't had a book graded in a long time. I really don't know if I truely trust their grading. I think the best thing about them are the cases the books are put in. Do they say why they are upping the price? Unfortunately it's the best thing we have, but I agree, sometimes I don't always agree with their grade. From what I read, they havent had a price increase in 6 years so they said it was time. If only everybody waited 6 years. We'll see how long it takes before they do it again. Sometimes grading a book just isn't worth the cost. But if you have a book that could command big money with a nice grade, then I think it's worth it naturally.
