[a href=" www.linsner.com/gallery.asp"] www.linsner.com/gallery.asp[/a] Had to double check and it turned out to be the case. I can't believe there has never been a thread here on Joseph Michael Linsner. The man practically burst on the scene during the comic boom of the early 90s and was instantly famous when Dawn got hot. It appeared for a time the guy was walking on air. And although he did cover and guest appearances elsewhere, there was no denying Dawn would always be his bread and butter. Unfortunately, it almost seemed to the point where he was typecast. Although he never seemed to fight it much, it almost got to the point where JSM and Dawn were inseparable and eventually people seem to grow eventually kinda tired of it as well as he was known to have some long delays on getting material out and it got to the point when his next issue came out, people had done forgotten the story with the previous issue. Still it is undeniable the success and fame that Dawn brought him. If you're going to only have one major hit on your hands, you'd be set to have one as strong as Dawn was. The last couple times I've seen some new material by Linsner, it appeared to be a slightly watered down version of his old self. It was the same good girl/bad girl stuff, but not as detailed and polished as his early works. I don't know if that is common nowadays or not. I do know I don't hear too much about him any more. But it's good to know he's still out there working on things here and there.

I was told he lives in Georgia now which I found hard to believe. I lost interest in his work when he started drawing women with those birthin' hips.

Funny, I was just shooting the shit with him the other day on the phone. I have been friends with Joe since Comic Kings did their first signing with him. He is still doing work. He does a lot of prints and stuff that sell like crazy on ebay. He has his Dark Ivory character who has another series coming out soon, and he also has Eck the Vampire which he will do stories for here and there. Lately he has been doing covers for Red Sonja for Dynamite. Gotta agree with defient 1 (mark your calenders) He has gotten in the habit of drawing those "birthing hips." but what do you expect. The guy weighs almost 300 lbs. I mean that would be a skinny woman for him. also, joe has always been more about the -real- women. The ones that you would see in classic paintings where they are a little more volumptuous.

Not sure I mind the birthing hips too much although I'll agree his earlier work was outstanding.
The thing is, we've been fed so many characters with 15 foot legs and 60 inch titties that I'll forgive the man for drawing birthing hips. I mean hey, a good donk never hurt nobody. At least his women aren't deformed with bellies where their head should be.

Yeah I prefer his older stuff also. I am not into big women, but I consider his women to be more full figured than roll'em in the flour big.
Maybe it has to do with age. I mean he is getting older, and he probably is exposed to women of that type now so it shows in the work. My wife will sometimes do this deep red color to her hair and ...yeah I need to think of something else right now LOL.
