Yeah I took nothing from what you wrote. I just look at it as ok, I have 4000 followers that want to know whats up with me. Problem is I am not that exiting and would feel like I was wasting someones time writing something like -Went to 7/11 and got a six pack.- Or whatever. I like facebook, because I enjoy more in depth discussions that 140 characters makes impossible. Now if I manage to break in and get work going, I may end up on the twitter bandwagon. Twitter is great for posting announcements or as a summary of articles and in depth content posted elsewhere. Anybody still sending out emails to do the same needs to catch up with the times. df1

Twitter is great for posting announcements or as a summary of articles and in depth content posted elsewhere. Anybody still sending out emails to do the same needs to catch up with the times. I think it would be awesome if artists and writers made announcements and kept us up to date with things they are doing and working on and the ins and outs of their profession. Their are a lot of fans who follow certain creators hoping for something useful, insightful or entertaining. I just don't feel it's good to follow a creator and listen to their viewpoints on politics, who to smack down when other creators don't do what they do or update us on the sandwich they just ate. As an example, Brian Bolland has posted literally hundreds of posts like this in the past week or two.... AEAEAERRRRRCCJJJACCAAAEEEI'm not lying about this. He's on record as saying twitter is stupid but yet he posts hundreds of posts just like this all the time on a daily basis. I can't tell you how much respect Im losing for the guy because he posts like this. And yet I think his art is awesome! I just think some of these guys who I have looked up to as comic creators for a long time are really coming off as either overbearing egoists or just plain idiots. They aren't doing themselves any favors or service to others. I'd say its probably less than 10% of the creators I started out following who really know how to use twitter in a worthwhile manner. The others think they are Terrell Owens and people really care who they ate dinner with that night.

I would probably be posting shit like Bolland does just because I would feel the need to post -something.
BTW, Did you know that Bolland does his art 100% on the computer? Apparently he has for about 12 years now.

I think I ACCIDENTALLY deleted a response to this post by defiant1 from my touch screen cell phone and once I realized I had done it, I had no way that I could figure on how to get it back. So my apologies to defiant1 for accidentally deleting a post. As a side note, no I didn't know Bolland worked completely on computer, but in any event, I don't think there is any excuse for posting the jibberish he has in the past few weeks. Stick with working on the computer for art and drop the twitter if you can't tweet anything beyond the age of 2 years old.

One is missing. No big loss. df1 The thing is, I don't even know how I did it. I picked up my phone and it said "deleting post". I got to see it just in time that it was yours. I mean, I actually have to try and delete people's posts when I want to. But with my handy touch screen phone, apparently I don't even have to think about it. I just had the magic sequence of sitting the wrong way. Trust me, it was totally unintentional.

They don't really design this stuff to not be used. They assume people are staring at their phone all the time and touching the screen with a purpose. That is not always the case. df1

Seen this post today by Erik Larsen. I found it a bit amusing. Compelling, content-driven covers is a start to making things better. Covers used to entice readers--now they're often pinup shots.
If I didn't know better, I'd think he'd been reading our threads.

If I didn't know better, I'd think he'd been reading our threads. I addressed these issues with him on a messageboard. He may very well have been reading all the backlash from fans. df1

Maybe it's too prove that he thinks Twitter is for morons, he posts jibberish to try and prove his point. I got a Twitter, Facebook, and Myspace I don't use them. I can't tweet, update my Facebook and Myspace pages, while playing Mass Effect 2 on my Xbox 360 and playing Dragon Age: Origins on my PS3, watch a movie on my PC, and post on an internet message board all at the same time, that kind of multi-tasking is beyond me. The 140 character thing on twitter doesn't work for me. When I write something most of the time I don't how long or short it will be.
