I was late getting Michigan in. And I didnt have a lot to report anyway. The race was scheduled for Sunday and got rained out. Monday, got rained out and finally took place on Tuesday. I had it set to record for both Sunday and Monday, but forgot about Tuesday and had a friend at work try and record it for me. But he recorded on a cheap Memorex disc and I only got to see about 55% of the race because it was defective.
So, I didnt see the whole thing, but what I did see was rather bland. I hardly remember anything about the race except Pablo Montoya spinning out and Harvick calling him an idiot. Plus my boy got in a wreck and had saved his car when Nemechek couldnt slow down for 10 whole seconds and creamed him in the front of his car. It was right after that my recording mercifully became defective.
1 star out of 5 (the 2 day build up to watch this had no pay off).
Bristol
Bristol is my 3rd favorite track and the #1 reason is it has always been exciting. After so many hum drum races lately, this looked sure to be exciting. But the new racing surface and Cars of Tomorrow produced yet another boring race. The racing was side by side and pretty good, but there wasnt the typical crashes you are used to at Bristol. The f'ed the track up if you ask me. Before you could only be at the bottom and if you got off the bottom, you was hosed. So everyone fought for the bottom. And this is where the crashes took place. This time, it didnt matter. You could ride anywhere and everywhere. So, it was the friendliest Bristol race I can ever remember. You normally also could count on a good finish. With maybe a bump and run. This time, anticlimatic with Edwards winning easily.
Bring back the old Bristol. This one sucked!
