Apparently they are making another movie of Spawn. They are killing Ultimate Spider-Man. which sucks because that is the only version of the character that has been consistently good for thee last 5 years. My guess is that Marvel is planning to get rid of the Ultimate Universe. Back on topic: I would cancel IDW's upcoming Infestation crossover and The Walking Dead because I'm sick and tied of zombies.

I wouldn't mind seeing that book canceled myself.

Apparently they are making another movie of Spawn. Todd has been writing the movie script for three years and claims that studios have been interested. I'm sorry, but I don't think Mcfarlane is qualified to write a movie script. The simple fact he says he is writing it leads me to believe you won't see progress on a second movie for a long time. I'm also not too convinced a studio is really interested in it as he claims. This type of press is usually intended to stir up interest in the public. It isn't working. The movie did okay, but it seems to have killed the franchise. The comic is barely getting out every month. MCFarlane is also talking about expanding his comics line and introducing a new series that he thinks would be great as a TV show. Hefty goals for someone who does little more than draw the same lame cover images after a decade. df1

I'd like to see Savage Dragon end too. His huge ego and scribbles with basically a character with a fin on his head and green skin never inspired me. People tell me he and Savage Dragon is great. But on Twitter, he seems like a Savage Cock. Also I've seen him rant on other boards like he was some over egotistical douche. Nothing is ever his fault if it has his name on it. I wouldn't mind seeing that guy out of work.

I'd recommend meeting him and finding out 1st hand what he is like in person. He is usually in Baltimore.

I would cancel about all but one Avengers book. I don't think everyone needs to be an Avenger.
Maybe cut Wolverine and Deadpool down to one book each as well while they are at it.

I'd say that for just about any book really. Don't need 6-8 titles of Batman and Spiderman. 5 titles of the X-Men and Wolverine. Etc, Etc, etc.......Some characters it's okay to maybe push the 2-3 envelope, but anything beyond that is just overkill. I think a LOT of comic characters would be a lot better if there was less of them seen everywhere else. I also think it would weed out the talent base and kick some of these posers to the curb and leave stronger talent on worthy books. The talent that kicked to the curb could make the independent stuff a bit stronger and kick the posers there totally out of work.

Some of these guys need a shot of originality and work on other things. They keep riding the coat-tails of their one success. I can remember being pissed when Bryne left the X-Men. I felt it sucked when Kirby left Fantastic Four. But were talking 40 - 100 issues and they moved on. Other people worked on those books and they are still going strong today. Seeing Larsen ride Savage Dragon for 160+ issues makes it seem like he couldn't produce another winner or is scared to try. What's so special about a fin on a head and green skin? He's getting to where he is just scribbling now. He's comfortable with that. It's easy to see. He needs to be challenged to do good work again. Not just scribble and phone in books month after month. He's being praised too much for subpar work.

Never really had a problem with Larsen outside of his pushing his political agenda in his books. Always enjoyed the Dragon, (tho I haven't read it since his big "endorsement" issue) but I'll definitely agree that the art appears much "looser" these days. The 2 "phone book" Savage Dragon Archives are a real hoot. Nice fun read.
As for books I'd like to see cancelled... All Deadpool books beside the regular All Wolverine books beside the regular Secret Avengers and New Avengers can go I'm really enjoying the Batman Inc. line, but I must admit... there's too many books. X-Men (vol. 3) is terrible in my opinion. Tho I'm sure I'm not the intended audience for it...
Otherwise, I've had it with Zombies... was never a fan of them... to the point where I questioned whether people's obsession with them was genuine or ironic.
This is a fun thread.
I'd actually forgotten that Spawn was still being published... heh
Hope you all had a great Christmas!
