I want to thin my collection out

I've retired as a collector. Not looking for anything or entertaining the thought of buying anything. Good Luck though.

You aren't really going out of your way to sell the stuff Mike. In this day and age of stuff on the internet everywhere and often cheap, I'd have to say people ARE looking for the super far below guide prices.

I don't know if you've been into Sap's store Comic Chest in Va. Beach, but the last time I was in there years ago he had a crapload of comics but none of them were priced and if anyone showed any interest in any of them he would pull out his price guide and then name his price. I found that to be too much of a hassle, I walked out his door and never came back. This is what your pitch seems like to me. Say what we are interested in and then you will name your price.

I'd rather you throw out there what you got and at what price. If it looks interesting, reasonable and something I want, I'd holler at you. And that may ultimately be WAY too much work for a small site like mine and I get that hence that's why I've never made a marketplace on my site. I don't think my site supports it. But I'm not against anyone putting some books out on here and saying "For Sale" either. In fact, I'd welcome it. But I think as a consumer though, I'd rather see whats available than play...."Go Fish".

Just my thought on it. No offense.

You guys are giving this to much thought.

I am looking to sell some of my collection, but for my own reasons. I need to buy some tattoo equipment so that I can start making that my money maker.

I have a really good collection, but no interest in dealing with ebays bullshit.
You guys buy so I thought I would see if you had interest in anything.

Comic Chest is closed Tom, and I would not sell anything to Don even if it was still open. I wouldn't sell to any comic shop for that matter.

You are also assuming I am going to try to get full value or close to it for whatever I did sell.

As for comics being worthless now. No not really. Ungraded books do not command value because of that alone. Newer books its the same deal.
But older books, key books, those still have initial value and if you invest in grading you would make a huge profit in some cases.
That is just how it has always worked.

But, my collection is solid. I just thought some of you may be interested in filling in some holes or might be looking for quality versions of certain books so I threw it out here foryou guys.

Without thinking about it at all, that's pretty much it in a nutshell.
