Okay, here's another Best Of....
What do you consider to be the best comic series of 2008? It can be a long standing comic or a mini-series. But in your opinion, the best there was for 2008....

I'm going to slowly answer these Best of - Worst of categories. I figured I would start with this one and slowly work my way through them.
I havent been able to see a lot of comic series or title runs throughout the year, but I certainly seen a lot more this year than I did last year. The one title that was consistently putting out an outstanding product in my opinion was.....
The Twelve
I really love this series. The story is grabbing and the art is superb. If it was an on-going series, I could see myself continuing with it after 12 issues. But, it will end right there. Unfortunately, I may end up missing those last 4 issues, but I'll do whatever I can to track those down.
Best long term ongoing series for me and remember, this is only what limited titles I check out....
Captain America
Even though Epting has taken a few issues off and comes back, when the Brubaker-Epting team has this title, its the easiest read both reading the story and on the eyes. I feel like Im watching a tv show. Im not being bored with scenes that have no need to be there. The pacing is great. I love it.
Im going to have to think about what was my favorite DC comic. I didnt get a whole lot of them. But, maybe there is something when I think about it that stood out. I'll get back to you on that.

I wasn't reading anything consistently, so I can't vote.

I wasn't reading anything consistently, so I can't vote. I humbly disagree.... I dont exactly read every comic I buy. But I certainly see a lot of them and I can base my opinion on a comic just by looking through a lot of them. Sure, reading it makes it even better and more credible. But, if I didnt read a single comic, I could still tell you which ones I liked the best.

JSA is what I am voting for. It had the return of the Kingdom Come universe. Starman was written really really well. It was great to see how the JSA act as a family as well as a team. The art was superb and the writing was even better. This series gives you a good feeling about the DCU. It also makes me happy to just be able to read it.

Naoki Urasawa's Monster gets my vote this year. The final volume is actually about to be released tomorrow.
