If you bought comics during the year of 2010, there has to be one or a few that were the best. Was it achieving a comic that is rare, costly, hard to find? Or was it simply the most beautiful copy you've ever seen? Doesn't necessarily have to be a key comic, just needs to be a comic or comics that meant the most to you when you purchased them during 2010.

All in all, I think I had a pretty solid comic collecting year easily surpassing anything I've done in the last 3 years. None of my stuff would blow anybody away, but I think I concentrated on solid stuff and not typical filler junk that I may have been prone to getting in previous years. I've decided if I'm going to buy back issues, it needs to have either a purpose in my collection, or be of importance in one way or another. It can't just be anything. Id gladly take years like this one over the next few. Out of all the pretty decent stuff I got this year, I'd have to say I was probably happiest getting my copy of Flash #123 followed closely by my Zoo Funnies #2. But I think the Flash #123 felt the best. I like having it. Flash is one of my more favorite DC characters as a back issue.

I think I had one of them right-place, right-time moments a few weeks ago. Was visiting a half-price books across town, and was perusing their quarter-bins as I'd usually do... seeing all the Image and Malibu books, and occasionally coming across something I'm looking for.
Well, this day I happened to find a 45 issue run of Detective Comics starting in the late 500's. Great run from Alan Grant/Norm Breyfogle. At twenty-five cents a pop, I couldn't resist.
In that same quarter bin, I also found a Mark Bagley autographed Night Thrasher #1, and a Mark Waid autographed Irredeemable #2.
Good finds all around.
G, Congrats on the Flash #123. That's the one that opened the floodgates on the multiverse, no?

G, Congrats on the Flash #123. That's the one that opened the floodgates on the multiverse, no? Yeah, New Flash and Old Flash coming to the rescue of a construction worker who is about to be killed by a falling I-Beam. That is certainly the draw to this book. It has one of those recognizable covers that scream key and when I snagged it, I was really happy about it. In the previous days I barely lost out on a Green Lantern #76 and a Justice League of America #21. Both by hairs. Then I won this. Totally made up for it. But to be honest, I wish I won the other two as well.
