New for this year I thought I would try and have us pinpoint what comic or series really stunk up the joint. This can be a single issue or series, but it's main thing of notability is that it truly sucked and made you say "no more". What was the worst comic or title you seen in the last year?

I'm not going to call it a disappointment because I think that should be reserved for books that actually came out. I think I'll put Image United up as one of the worst comic series of the year. Having originally came out with issue #1 in November of 2009, here we are 13 months later and we haven't made it past issue #2. I really don't think they ever will finish this and its all being pushed under the rug now like it was some bad dream and no one even talks about it anymore. It's pretty hard to beat an effort like that when it was supposed to have been made from some of the all-time Image greats.

I think my "Worst of 2010" would have to be the new X-Men series that started a few months back. I'm not sure why/how the X-Men fighting vampires is a) a good idea, and b) worthy of starting an entire new volume of X-Men. The scripting is a little too "hip" for me, and doesn't ring all that true for the characters (at least to me). Reminds me of the rapid-fire too-cool dialogue of a Kevin Smith movie or Gilmore Girls. At the end of the day, I'm pretty sure they just used this as an excuse to throw another $4 book on the shelves.
That being said... Marvel cancelling $3 titles, only to relaunch them at $4 has done a lot to sour my view of them this year. Vengeance of the Moon Knight gets "put on hiatus" so a $4 Moon Knight miniseries can start up. X-Force gets cancelled so a $4 "Uncanny" X-Force can be launched. Irritating year all around at Marvel.
