Well, not exactly. What is really happening is that there is discussion and active planning to do a few mini-series of the characters that take place before the obvious world ending events of the graphic novel.
Darwyne Cooke (Writer/Artist on PArker and New Frontier and Catwoman) Is said to be writing and possibly drawing a Comedian mini-series. and there is also word that he showed up at a recent convention to talk to Andy Kubert and his Father Joe about working together on a Nite-Owl Comic which features both the Golden Age and Modern versions of the character.
No word on the other series yet or what the event will be called. But there will be a Rorchach book as well. I personally wouldn't mind seeing Azzarello and Risso of 100 Bullits doing that series.
As a big fan of WATCHMEN, I pray to God that htese guys do not in any way try to change what has been established or inject new things in that really do not fit. I think they could tell a number of different stories based just on the bits of history that was exposed in the original story.
Word has it that Dave Gibbons is kind of passively standing by tight now and may end up participating at some point.
What do you think about this?

I'm not a fan of Watchmen, bit I think the fans out there are fans of the STORY, and aren't interested in exploring the characters more unless Alan Moore writes them. I think it should be left alone. df1

I'm not a fan of Watchmen, bit I think the fans out there are fans of the STORY, and aren't interested in exploring the characters more unless Alan Moore writes them. I think it should be left alone. df1 I probably have a hybrid viewpoint of the both of you. I consider myself a fan of the Watchmen. I enjoyed the comic series. I actually really enjoyed the movie too. I thought it played out real close to the book. I wouldn't mind seeing stories of the characters but picking just one or two to focus on to me would be like playing favorites. The Comedian and Rorsach are obvious first choices, but I think the rest of the characters were interesting too. I would hate to see these characters as something they wasn't in the book or movie. It would ruin this whole thing. I also don't feel comfortable with Alan Moore NOT being involved. Although I've always read he has no interest in furthering the Watchmen. I'm not sure I have as much faith in someone else messing with the characters and it feels a little unauthentic hearing someone else will be messing with them. I almost think when Moore seeing it, he'll be pissed off about the whole thing. In any event, regardless of what I think, I do think the story and the characters are strong enough to rate another movie but I also think its playing with fire. The average non-comic person didn't really get Watchmen. Its was mainly the die-hards that dug it. The regular people wanted to see what it was about. Their reviews were sketchy at best. Those who didn't care for it the 1st time will not come back the second time and the potential audience seems smaller to begin with this time. It'll have to be a word of mouth that this movie kicks ass better than the 1st one for it to even have a chance at beating the original's numbers.

My friend Lee, who "G"G knows, is not a comic fan, but enjoys the films. I took the WATCHMEN DVD to his house to watch it one day. He has hearing issues, which required us to use subtitles. I have to say with subtitles, it was even easier to understand, especially with the characters somtimes speaking to low to register. Lee loved it and has seen it 3 times already.
I think that the plan from DC is to have mini-series dealing with all of the characters. So far, these 3 series are the only ones announced. Like you "G" I am interested as long as they do not contradict anything Moore created.
We will see what happens.

So the first creative team confirmation has come out.
The Comedian: Mini-Series Written by; Darwyn Cooke Art by; J.G. Jones.
I can be happy with this choice since I love JG's work.

So the first creative team confirmation has come out. The Comedian: Mini-Series Written by; Darwyn Cooke Art by; J.G. Jones. I can be happy with this choice since I love JG's work. In an era where mini-series have been shoved down our throats at complete nauseum. This seems to lend itself to the format of mini-series. However, I think breaking the characters up onto their own kind of pisses me off. It reeks of "Lets turn the Comedian into a Wolverine type character"? It reeks of exploitation. To me, Watchmen 2 would have been better as a 2nd Watchmen MAXI series as a whole. Give us another story with twists and turns and see where the plot leads us. I think this breaking it up and working on it one character at a time simplifies things for the creators. They don't have to put much thought into it. Not in the way Watchmen was thought out. Now they just need some cheesy ass story where they can exploit the evilness of the Comedian and bang, who cares about the rest? I think its just another way that comic fans sell their selves short on what they should expect or demand from companies and creators. Far too often, we let them off the hook because we just seem so damn eager to eat up whatever they dish out because we loved them the 1st time around. So we settle for something quite a bit less the 2nd time around and so on. We don't demand that the companies challenge themselves to do better. And so something as full blown as the Watchmen was and demanded lots of work and thought and time can now be treated like any other character like say Batman. Just fluff the comedian with some stupid story where he can run around and the collective sheep will buy it up. Its like when the Porn Star Houston fucked 500 guys. I think it was called the Houston 500. Basically the highlight of that slut's career. Nobody cared when she only fucked 1 guy at a time after that. That's what DC is doing with the Watchmen. They are giving us single fucks from a gang bang legend. I hate to be negative, but now that I know more than I did a week or two ago, I smell major disappointment.

There is nothing saying that they will not do a Minuteman mini-series. The characters had established working relationships seperate from the team aspect. I am sure they will do somthing involving all of the characters, but not anything that could affect the original story.

Today, most girls do become more aware of the latest fashion sense. For designers and brands, they can only pop out in the Dawn Jobs Adsfashion industry and stand the time test if they keep updated with the newest expectations from customers and live up to them. mcitp certification But as for fashion devotees, they will make fabulous statements with their styles, tastes and approaches to life once being meticulous about their looks.
