This story just seems to get uglier and uglier for fellow Virginian Michael Vick. Latest Im hearing is he's been told to stay away from the Falcons until the investigation has been resolved. Im not sure how I feel about this. I know its bad, wrong and borderline sick to get involved with dog fighting. But also, has this become a High Profile witch hunt?
So the question is: Would you rather see him punished to Oblivion or is this thing getting too far out of hand and its overblown and a few slaps on the wrist are in order but nothing freedom and career threatening?

I fear for the guy. The Feds don't usually get involved in something like this unless they've got major evidence on that person. ...& it looks like his 'buddies' are set to testify against him. I think it's gonna end very bad for him, probably worse than it looks now.
As far as whether he deserves it or not... I think it's the size of the operation that got them caught. It sure doesn't look like it was a small deal for giggles. They seem to be 'pros' at fighting dogs. I have a hard time sympathizing with someone that would waste such a great profession over something so stupid.

Well, looks like he is going to decide to plead guilty. Looks certain he's going to do at least a year in prison as well as it is possible he might get a lifetime ban from the NFL, although that part is unknown. Pretty sad set of circumstances for someone who pretty much had it all.

Its weird when I can go back to a thread I made a couple of years ago and add to it.
The Michael Vick saga has now come full circle. Although Im not happy he ended up with my division rival Eagles, I am happy that Michael Vick did his time, served his penalty, seems remorseful and is being given a 2nd chance. The verdict is still out on him on whether or not he is a changed man. But sometimes I feel like I myself need a 2nd chance. So how can I be upset when Michael Vick is getting his? I think he's earned it and I wish him well.

Looks like Vick will make his Philly debut Thursday in a preseason game.

Vick debuted today. He was 0-2 passing and rushed once for 7 yards. Not much action, but Philly didn't need him as they romped.
