I hate admitting it because they just seem so unpopular. But, Im a Redskins fan. And you know, they havent played bad this year. You take out the New England fiasco and they have pretty much been in every game this year.
But today was difficult to take. I thought they were in total control of the Eagles all day today but just giving them just enough to stay alive. To me the critical moment came late in the 4th quarter when they were up by 2. They had the ball at the 5 yard line with 1st and goal. 3 plays later they still hadnt stuffed the ball in. But they got lucky enough to get a penalty. Its and goal again now at the 3. Once again 3 downs and no score. I knew this was critical because if they score they have a 9 point lead late in the game and all the pressure is on the Eagles. Instead, they blow it, kick a field goal and then kick off to them. They in turn throw a bomb and now late in the game, they are the ones up by 1 after failing a 2 point conversion.
After having ran up and down the field all day, they suddenly looked like they were no longer in sync. On 2nd down the QB was in shotgun and the center hiked the ball without him knowing it and it hit him in the chest and he had to fall on it. 2 more plays and we were done.
I actually thought it was smart to let the Eagles go ahead and score because they were out of time outs. It was the only way to get the ball back. So now, down by 8 they play pitty pat ball again and suddenly cant get 10 yards. Game over.
Instead of being 6-3 and looking really good for the playoffs. They drop a divisional game and fall to 5-4 and now they go to Dallas to play the red hot (and ULTRA HATED) Cowboys.
We can very easily be 5-5 and letting this season slip away. Should have beat the Giants, Should have beaten Green Bay. And should have won today against the Eagles. The only game we stunk the joint up was against the Pats. This team could very easily be 8-1 but they have NO KILLER INSTINCT! Today was a prefect example.
If this is any indication. They wont make the playoffs. They blew a major chance of getting a ton closer today. There was no excuse not to score with 7 plays from within the 5 yard line late in the game. I knew when they didnt punch it in. That they would lose. And they did.
