I've been noticing a lot that often when I do something on Proboards, I'll do something to make a new page load and I'll get a "Cloudflare" message saying something was wrong. Usually on the server end and not mine. Often, i can simply refresh the page and the page will load properly.
This happens on my computer from time to time, on my phone from time to time and even when I visit other Proboard sites like Defiant1's site.
Has Proboards changed their servers and this one is just slower and more unreliable than whatever they were using in the past? This has been going on for a few months now and I've meant to say something previously but never got around to it and it just happened to me again so I thought I would post about it while it was Fresh!

This has been going on for a few months now and I've meant to say something previously but never got around to it and it just happened to me again so I thought I would post about it while it was Fresh! I explained to Starseed that the trend is going towards dynamically updated web pages. While this is supposed to stop you from reloading web pages and increase the efficiency, I find that dynamically updated web pages end up slowing down the experience for the user. It's similar to the way that Microsoft increases the size of Windows every time they do an update. It doesn't matter how efficient they make it, they just use it as a means to consume every ounce of data they conserved and more. A quick web search shows that Cloudflare is touting themselves as a "Content Delivery Network (CDN)". Akamai is calling themselves a "CDN" also and pipes all of Facebook's data to the user. I believe this to be a new marketing term for "Ad Server". They are most likely tracking your habits and customizing ads for you. Proboards is probably compensated for it and gets free content hosting out of it. In all honesty, I've never heard of Cloudflare and have never gotten anything pop up with their name on it either here or on my board. Sciptblock is not blocking any scripts from them. It could be something piggybacking through your ISP. They partner with a lot of companies. www.cloudflare.com/hosting-partnersIf you are running Adblock Plus 2.3.2 with Firefox, make sure you uncheck "Allow some non-intrusive advertising" in the preference settings. I suggest using the "Better Privacy" plugin which allows you to manage and kill Flash/LSO "supercookies". I also use scriptblock, so scripts aren't able to call ad servers unless I allow it. df1
