I wish I could be happy about this guy about to pass Hank Aaron on the Home Run list, but I have a hard time with it.
I have tried a few times to like Bonds and he has always made it so damn hard to like him. And then it seems so obvious that he was a steroid user. It dilutes what he is accomplishing. Because I dont think for Aaron did those things. Aaron was breaking the record when I was awfully young (7), but he always seemed likable and humble back then. Bonds doesnt seem like he goes out and brags, but he never appears likable. He always looks angry and leave me alone looking.
Im sure with all he has been through over the years, you can half way forgive a player for being like that from time to time. But he has never seemed to work on his image...and that keeps me from liking him. More than the steroids deal (because there are so many who have done it by now that it is hardly a story anymore)....but mainly because he just hasnt tried to be fan friendly.
I really want to be happy on his accomplishment, but I cannot. Him passing Aaron ends up making me feel sorry for Aaron.

1 more to go before he ties Hank Aaron. Seems kind of sad to me. I wish it was somebody else doing it. I guess now it would be better to hurry up and get it over with.

I'm not happy about it, either. A guy like Aaron busts his ass for 20+ years to set this record, and I guarantee he didn't use any steroids to do it. There are so many things about Bonds to dislike. Ah well. The days of a player who hits 500 or more career HR being an automatic ticket to the HOF are over. Just look at McGwire.

Looks like Barry Bonds got indited yesterday. Somehow I feel like they will let him walk in the end and he'll be able to live out his retirement in style and say they never proved I did anything wrong.

I can't stand the guy, and I am extremely pleased that his record-breaking home run ball was branded with an asterisk by the guy who bought it. I hear Barry will "boycott the Hall Of Fame" if they place the ball on display with the *.
