The pornographic Savage Dragon #225 seems weak as fuck to me. I think its a disgrace to comics. If it was an underground I wouldnt have a problem with it but as ia, its weak and saddens me that this is how comics are now.

Uh! Yeah. It's called desperation. Shooter is supposed to be writing and editing for some event at Image comics. Jim hinted that Neal Adams & Jim Steranko may provide input, but that's less likely.

The pornographic Savage Dragon #225 seems weak as fuck to me. I think its a disgrace to comics. If it was an underground I wouldnt have a problem with it but as ia, its weak and saddens me that this is how comics are now. You know, Im not really a prude at all. Quite the opposite in fact. The image itself doesnt bother me at all. But the comic fan in me found it to be totally repulsive. Its screamed to me that you and your lame character really have nothing else to offer. Comics have always pushed the boundaries with ample T&A but even as a kid, it left things up to your own imagination. It was more cheesecake than anything and it toyed with fantasties of older boys, teens and young adults. But behind it all, there was usually still some substance there. The story and art itself would usually make you forget all the T&A that was there. But this book just smacked me with....thats all you got. Blatant nudity and downright vulgarity. I mean straight up pussy shots with pooling cum all over the cover. Topped off with a gigantic pricetag. Just screamed come and get it suckers! It really made me miss the comics I grew up with. I mean I could never imagine Stan, Jack, Ditko, Byrne, Buscema, Kane, Romita, Pollard, Adams, etc, etc, etc EVER having to resort to such tactics to make people buy their books. Ever. Its like their confidence flowed off the pages. They had a belief in themselves. They never felt the need to resort to a stunt like this. I mean if this was an underground or something like that, I wouldnt have 1 problem with this. I might even find an appreaciation for it in some cases. But as a mainstream comic on par with a more modern form of comics I grew up with. I just felt completely disgusted. Im not sure which disgusts me more. Image, Erik Larsen and his hack that drew this trash? Or the market that bought it and are boasting online that they were lucky enough to get one?

Nudity screams out "look at me". It screams out desperation this late in the game. It screams out shallowness.
