I'm gonna try my luck again, deal with a stiff neck, and fight off the gnats, and try to keep from going crosseyed to try a get a glimpse of a few of these shooting stars tonight. Tonight is supposed to be the best night to see'em.The sky is crystal clear so hopefully I wont be out there too long. I think here the ideal time is like 3/4 a.m....but I'm hoping to see some way earlier!

I never had any idea you were into things like that. That sounds more like an excuse to hang out in your yard late at night and drink a bunch of brews.

I never had any idea you were into things like that. That sounds more like an excuse to hang out in your yard late at night and drink a bunch of brews. I purposely didn't drink beer yesterday, otherwise I'd have been asleep by 9:30! I should've drank! I saw an awesome shooting star about 8:45 pm....then a quick flash one at about 9:00..then nothing for the next 20 minutes except trying to fend off the freaking gnats. Went inside to watch the lame last episode of John from Cincinnatti (I liked this show early on,then it started to suck a few weeks in and never got any better to me)...watched Entourage...then went back outside for about 20 minutes for nothing. I woke up at 3am took a leak and then a peak outside and saw a shooting star 30 seconds after I was looking,I figured it was on then! So I went outside for 20 minutes....It was on alright...it was probably a horde of gnats with a hostage firefly that they used to draw me outside...I was a late night snack for the whole gnat universe and no more shooting stars. I have probably sat out 10 times after reading and listening to all the hype of "tonight, there will be a spectacular meteor shower" and it never fails. It's always a let down. Maybe I need to be up on top of a mountain somewhere to really see anything. Atleast the gnats wont be there!

I think all I'd see would've been smog.
