Got to thinking about it and I was amazed I hadnt thought of it before. How can you talk about comics and not have a conventions thread? Anyway, if you been to any or you're thinking of going to any. Why not tell us about it here. Which reminds me... Hey Joey, how did that Richmond show go?

The show was worth the 80 mile trip! One guy was selling statues at 75% off of retail price and I picked up some good ones that'll sell on Ebay.I got almost $3000 worth of them for $650.I bought so much he cut me some slack...I got 3 copies of Transformers #1 (1984) from the same guy for $20/each.I am sending them off to CGC today. They are all atleast 9.6's to me and I think one will pull a 9.8. The 9.6's are bringing in $100,and the 9.8's are around $400.Zeno's had some Silver/Bronze Age FF'S for 50% off.I bought 5 of them for about $100.I thought I picked up some nice copies until I looked at them better when I got home.I hate the lighting at someof the shows!Still,I think the #114 will be atleast a 9.4,and the 123 a 9.2..they go today to CGC also. Snagged a set of Labyrinth #1,2,3 out of a guys .50 box..the last set sold on Ebay last week for $102! The same guy had these..Sandman #1-6 (Gaiman series) $1/each...and Batman Dark Knight Returns (1980's) #1,and 2 both 1st prints for half of cover price! It pays to dig in the cheap boxes!!

Thanks for that Joey! Man, it sounds like I missed out! Im hating it! I was just thinking this morning that I was itching to buy some comics. That feeling is hitting me again where I just want to go and buy some. Dont know if I'll be around that part of town soon, but when I get a chance, I'll be stopping by your store. Those Sandman's for $1 each was incredible. I have never owned a Sandman #1. I guess I just never wanted to pay more than a little bit for one. But, I think I have always wanted one. I have a few issues of the series. Id get more serious if I had that #1. I think Baltimore is coming up. Is it this weekend or the following? I dont know if I mentioned it elsewhere, I may have. I thought a month or so ago I was a shoe-in to go. But since I bought those Van Halen tickets, its going to be almost impossible. But, maybe the next Richmond show I can get to. I havent been to that one in a long time and it sounds like it is getting better. Man, Im itching to buy some comics....sad.

I found Sandman # 8-11 in that guys stuff after you paid Joey. # 8 is like the 2nd best book to own from the series. He also had a 1st printing of Batman: Mad Love and a Tales of the Teen Titans # 44 that I picked up. That's cool you found those Labyrinth books. I used to have a number 1 and 3 but sold them on Ebay a long time ago.
I am looking forward to the Baltimore con. I hope to find some good stuff there!

I'm still trying to set something up to make it up to Baltimore. Today I finally got back some CGC stuff of .50/$1 books that I bought at the Charlotte Con in June. This guy down there had uncirculated copies of Uncanny X-Men books in the low to mid 200's.They were in his $1 boxes. I submitted 11 #221's..they all came back 9.8's. That's a $100 book. Along with 222,223,228's....I love the junk boxes! I just wanna be the first guy to get to 'em! So Azbat...stay your ass home!

I know Ive seen you do it many times Joey, but somehow I didnt really have you pegged as a dumpster guy as much as I was. Heck, I love the dumpster boxes you have at your store. Gotten tons of good stuff in there over the years. Dumpsters for me can sometimes be the highlight of the day!

Man,the $1 boxes are the main reason I got to shows! There's just so much stuff in there that is great for Ebay,or CGC if it's high grade. I sold 11 of the 14 CGC books that I just listed on Ebay last night. Every one of them was from $1 boxes. $755 in sales from $11 in books and roughly $140 in CGC fees. This stuff was from the Charlotte show.I bought 4 1/2 long boxes of .50/$1 stuff. Just killer stuff in those boxes that alot of the dealers don't know whats hot or don't want to take the time of working their stock.

I already got the time off from work so I can go. ;D I'm sure you will be able to scoop up more stuff though than I would. I know a little bit of what's good to sell but you got more in the way of $$$ to get it all. Don't be afraid of me!

Dragon Con is coming up but i don't plan on going. They pissed me off with the parking arrangements a couple of years ago and I'll have to really be bored to EVER go again.
The crew monitoring one pay lot actually saw me drop money in the drop box yet put a wheel boot on my vehicle anyway. Anther lot jacked up their parking fee from $5 to $25 on the second day of the convention. I questioned it and he says "okay, $20". I said "bye".
Dragon Con responded to my complaint "We don't have anything to do with the parking arrangements". I chuckled and thought, "You just lost $60+ a year from me. It affected me twice, it won't affect me again."
I could ride the nasty rapid transit train, but I go with the intent to spend money on something. I'm not going to hop back on the train every day with hundreds of dollars in collectibles. I can just see me riding back on the train with the Olivia Watercolor sketch I bought one year...... NOPE! Not gonna do it.
