Anybody from here planning on going to this show? I got 2 free 3-day passes today that I can pass on to anybody that has been a registered member on this site. Let me know thanks! Joey Wow Joey, thats a cool statement you made there. Well, for me at least. I certainly hope someone does take you up on that offer. As for me, I appreciate that you made it in support of this board. Sometimes I feel like I need to come up with something like this to say thanks, but I just dont know what. Im always pleased when I see contributions to my board. Even though there is not a lot of people here and not a lot always happening, I feel there has been just enough to be very enjoyable and worthwhile for me personally. I just got done with my March monthly ritual. I usually have until the 5th to finish everything. And that was the plan starting this week. I had a hectic output to finish by Friday, but my boss came in and indicated that we needed to be done by Wednesday night this month...the 2nd. The fiscal year ended March 31st and all the supervisors and managers needed the final numbers for evaluations, so we got last minute screwed. I lost 2 and potentially 3 days to finish. So, Ive been working opening to close and even at home to finish. Last night I fell asleep in front of the computer. But, happy to say I am done and since I actually am, I have now a bonus 2 day START on April!!! So, everything is good. But I want to say thanks again Joey for making the offer available to members of the site! That was a cool thing to do man! Thank you and everyone for that matter....for all your support!

Never been to New York and never had a desire to go there. Kind offer but I wouldn't be going. cfs The first time I went to the city was in the winter of 1996 for a comic show at the Jacob Javitz Center...the first day we got there,we walked around and it left a bad impression on me of NYC. It was dirty, people were very rude,we got confused on where we were going and got attitude & the wrong directions from a street cop. The people drive like maniacs!! I saw a lady in a Jag bumrush everybody going into the Licoln Tunnel. It was like a traffic jam and this lady comes through like she's in a tank! It was a trip! The cool thing that weekend,NYC got like 26-28 inches of snowfall in 1-day that set a record for the time...it was just coming down like no tomorrow and it was pretty awesome to see one of the biggest cities in the world almost get shut down! There was snow piled up so high from the plows trying to keep atleast 1 lane open in each direction on those busy streets....(on a side note, the storm had turned into an Ice Storm as it moved south, and on the way home through New Jersy & Deleware, everything was coated in ice...trees,street signs, power lines,everything...it's something I'll never forget!)...... But the city experience sucked and I didn't go back until the 1st New York Comic Con in 2006. What a difference! Me and Azbatx took the trip and I was very impressed on how clean & friendly it was this time around. I was shocked. I think they have moved this show this year to a much larger venue and should be able to handle the madness from the prior 2 years. But I am disappointed in these shows that bill themselves as a "Comic Cons". When there's 150 or so vendors and only 30 are guys selling comics,it sucks. I'm not into all the cross media stuff thats going on.I'm there to look at comics and dig through boxes, but it's a battle getting to anything because it gets so packed with people that are there to see everything BUT comics. So,that 1st NYC con was probably my last. As for these tickets,I'll offer them here til Monday and if there's no takers I'm gonna offer them on the CGC boards. Joey

Regardless if anybody takes them or not, I still think it was a cool offer Joey and I appreciate you making it available to anybody that wants them here. Even if no one takes them...it was a cool gesture.

The 1st NY Con was a different experience than what I was expecting. There weren't that many dealers. Instead, there was a lot of promo type stuff. A lot of the dealers and guests weren't even there on the 1st day. It wasn't very organized.
The best part of that trip was actually going out into the city with Joey. It was cool to see it all lit up at night in Times Square. It was a lot cleaner than the last time I went there.
I'll never forget the bathroom at the gas station we stopped at on the way back and took a picture of the toilet to send to one of our buddies.
Or when we took the wrong exit getting up there and were on that back road that seemed to go nowhere after getting directions.
Good times

You are describing a bad visit to Atlanta. It sounds the same, but I know New York is on a bigger scale and the people more rude.

It sounds the same, but I know New York is on a bigger scale and the people more rude. cfs Me and my old business partner went to Atlanta in 1994 for the Diamond Comics Retailers Seminar. My only memories are going to the Gold Club at about 12 noon and getting table dances from totally nude (Playboy caliber) women for $10!
