I think it's pretty common for me to pick up just about any comic from any company or era. If I like it and the condition and price is good, Im apt to buy it regardless of what the company name is. Just be good, or have some potential or speculation value. I'll buy from whoever.
But Marvel has always been the easiest for me to follow. I pretty much know most of the origins and at least the major past storylines. I have a great idea who each character is and what they are about.
Maybe you feel that way about other companies. But it is not as easy for me. I switch to another company and its hard for me to know the character I am reading about or a major portion of their background or what has affected them most recently. It takes a lot of digging to get to know a character.
For that reason I am still mostly a Marvel Zombie. And again, one who is likely to buy anything. I just feel their characters were the easiest for me to know.

I'd say I do too, but I've seen the same comics over and over for years . I think that's why my tastes rolled back to the old monster comics. Just as you are tired of the same radio hits being played by a band, I'm tired of looking at key issues of classic comics.

I've always been biggest on Marvel as well. Nowadays though, I find that I read anything that I like which more often than not, is not from Marvel. About all that I read from Marvel nowadays are the Brubaker and Kirkman books plus ASM.
DC Vertigo, Image and Dark Horse produce a ton of quality books that I enjoy. If I had to pick one company to buy books from, it would probably be Image.
