As you may or may not know, I have been trying to work my way back into current comics. If for no other reason, I hate not knowing what is going on. I think it makes the "speculation" side a lot easier to play if you know what is going on now. I think it makes it far easier to have a discussion if you know what is going on now. So, I decided to create a new thread category. Not just a new thread, but a category. That means, I would like to see people start different threads on different subjects on what they feel will be hot or is currently hot. And it doesnt have to be just current books either. If you know of a back issue from days gone by and feel its getting hot, by all means...talk about it! And for those who actually work in the comics fields, your insight will have even more credibility. So please...share the knowledge, share the wealth!

I wouldn't be surprised if some Skrull appearances become hot soon. X-Men (1991) #89 is the issue the X-Men discovered a Skrull training camp where the Skrulls were disguised as earth heroes. That one seems particularly key to me.

Frankly, key valiants are primed to go through the roof in my opinion. A second Harbinger 1 just sold in a private sale for 2,500.00. A raw copy of Harbinger 1 just moved tonight on eBay for 128.00 including shipping. In my mind these Harbinger 1 sales are foreshadowing other key Valiants moving up at some point this year. Let's see if I'm right.

I hope you're right because I wouldnt have a problem unloading my pre-unity Valiants. I might keep 1 each of the keys, but the rest I wouldnt have a problem getting rid of. Id hate to see this company throw a sucker punch twice. Not saying it will, but if raw copies are going that high again, you may not want to stare that gift horse in the mouth too long.

I hope I'm right also. I just bought a CGC 9.6 1st print Solar 10 for around 120.00 including shipping. I'm sure that's a record price. I compare that book favorably to Harbinger 1. Already had some Solar 10s slabbed.

I think Valiant keys are blue chip investments regardless of how the relaunch goes, though.

What would push them if the relaunch fails? Ive heard rumors of a movie, but what if the relaunch collapses and there never is a movie?

Didn't Layton post that he was not having anything else to do with VEI? I think the company has some serious issues that go deeper than marketing their properties. cfs
