I really havent done much with Ebay lately. I kind of got out of it for awhile. The only thing that got me looking at it again was selling my Harbinger V.F.V.S.S. That got my eyes on it again. But, as I look, I find myself wanting to buy something bad but I also find myself not finding anything worthy. Am I just being too picky? Is this a good thing and a sign that my purchases are maturing? Or do I really not want to buy anything and I just find reasons not to purchase anything?
Regardless, I got to wondering just how the rest of you are doing? How often do you find yourself skimming Ebay for comic books? This doesnt necessarily mean you bought anything, you just more or less seriously looked. And then more importantly, how often are you purchasing things? Seldom? Often? Daily? Hardly Ever? What???
Do you think your habits are increasing or decreasing? Do you have a good system that you have figured out overtime, or is it just really luck of the draw when you happen to get on Ebay?
Just be honest....How goes it with you these days on Ebay with looking and buying comics?

I got in the habit of looking for certain things because I made a few purchases and that keeps me going back to check on the status of those purchases. Most recently I won an auction for Vicki #3 & #4. The seller wrote back to say "Why Vicki?". If I get to the point where I have nothing on the way, then I'll probably be searching less. One thing I don't search for is Valiant... I just don't care. I am searching for some hard to find items and they don't pop up too often. When they quit popping up for an extended period, I'll probably quit looking.

I would LOVE to have them as this Archie Rip Off seems to be one of the hardest series to find of the Atlas Comics (not magazines) Library. I have also lost interest in buying Valiant. I give more consideration to selling than buying. I also seem to be one who gets out of it and then stays gone. But once I get a little activity going again, it tends to make me want to continue more with it, which is where I am now. However, I have found NOTHING that I thought was worthy or a good deal since I started searching. It may just be me, but pickins seemed slim. I dont really want to buy someone else's mediocre stuff.

I've been settling for lower grade on the gag series from Charlton because they appear to be very rare. Picked up a couple of Cartoon carnival #1's as well as a #2. Also picked up a "Best new Cartooons #1 which is so rare that I had to add it to my checklist. I had not found any online references to it until after I saw an auction featuring it. The Marvel magazines for gag strip seem to be equally rare, but in my opinion the gags are not as funny. If not for seeing the name "Kalish" in the indicia, you wouldn't know who published them. I'm seeing more and more which are credited as being "Atlas". This proves more and more that "Atlas" was around under the Marvel umbrella maybe as much as a decade before they spun off and started their own line of comics. Having the rarest Atlas books gives me a reson to collect a set. I wasn't going to collect the set if i couldn't find the rarest items.
Starbrand searches for Valiant & Defiant all the time, so I don't even have to look for those and I still know what the market is doing.
I have some treasury sized items I'm still searching for. They aren't anything that critical, but i still search just for the heck of it.
I found a new Continuity variant that wasn't on my list last week. it's always interesting to find things I didn't know existed. Every time I think I'm one or two away from a complete set of Continuity, another book pops up. I'm still about 4 or 5 books away, but at least the ones that get added to my want list should be easy to find if I'm patient. the ones I'm missing are next to impossible. Right not I think I'd pay $50 baseline for a Megalith Red Foil #0 or a Gold foil Valeria #1 (white cover). I haven't decided how much more I'd pay, but I guess that depends on the grade and how much I trust the seller. Picked up two of the Bucky O'Hare hardback books for $9.99 and I was please with that price. The Bucky series is my least favorite.

At least you have your focus way narrowed down to where if you see what you are looking for, you know it right away. Im just sitting there wondering through page after endless page with nothing grabbing me and no book in mind when I search. It used to be unusual for me to go a day with heavy surfing and not buy anything. At this point, Im on day 3 or 4.
