What does VG+ mean gowaltrip ? VG means Very Good in terms of condition. Basically without getting into all the inbetween grades, comics are graded from best to worst in the following fashion: Mint = M = 10 Near Mint =NM =9.4 Very Fine = VF =8 Fine = FN =6 Very Good=VG =4 Good = G =2 Fair = F =1.5 Poor = P =1 There are inbetween grades too. Like a VG+ means a little better than VG. You might see VF/NM for a grade that is inbetween both, etc. Hopefully you get the idea. Very good is a typical read comic which has an accumulation of defects but it has not gotten to the point of being undesirable. Say when you were young you bought a comic and read it. You werent a collector so you didnt put it in a bag and board to protect it. Over time it got moved around a lot and maybe even read by a few other people. It accumulated a bunch of minor blemishes and defects but nothing devastating. No one threw it around the room. Even though it didnt have collectors treatment, it didnt really get abused either, but its like new appearance is totally gone. However, It has no major rips or chunks missing. The comic still has eye appeal (pleasing look) so depending on the book, it may still be collectible, but if you had a chance for a better copy, you would take it instead of this one. VG + means its a bit better than a VG but not good enough to be called a Fine. Fine is usually a solid copy with only minor wear and blemishes. Very Fine is nearly perfect with only a very minor ding or 2, otherwise it looks almost brand new. Near Mint is almost perfect in every way with just the slightest blemish allowed. Mint is something only Joey at Comic Kings finds. Mint is factory perfect and most comics brand new arent Mint when you buy them. Any Mint 10 comic regardless of how bad it was usually will make you some decent dough.
