Thanks for the feedback on the Civil War set, Joey. I went ahead and bought the issues I needed. I guess a good question now would be are Civil War #1-7 by themselves a readable story, or do you need all the various crossovers, as well? I got in the three issues I needed for a complete set and read them in one sitting. I actually thought the story was pretty good. It did a good job getting me involved and making me care for one side over the other. Tony Stark really came off as a dick in this one, and at times the pro-registration heroes struck me as almost being Nazi-like. I thought the Thor-clone stuff was stupid. I was wondering why Thor was acting like such a dick! It also didn't help their cause when they enlisted a bunch of super-villains to fight on their side. I understand why some might feel cheated by the ending, but I don't think it really could have ended much differently. Even if Cap's group had won, they would have still been fugitives from the law. Again, not bad. I'll probably flip it onto eBay and see if I can double my money.

That'll put you in it at $15 for the set. To me thats a good price, because they still sell in my store for $25-$30...I also got issues 3-7 in the .50 boxes.I had a good amount of 2's from the beginning..but those #1's are a bitch to find. I don't know about long term, but I think it will be a set that people will always buy.Did you come across anymore deals at the show? Thanks again for the good advice with these, Joey. I recently also picked up a variant of Civil War #3 (Thor cover) for 50 cents at a show and then listed them on eBay this past week. I did pretty well with them: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190250454404So $39 for a $15.50 investment, not bad! ;D

Civil War has still been very good to me. In my last post, I mentioned how I sold my set of Civil War #1-7 with the added Thor variant of #3 for $39.00. Even though I have been not buying much from eBay lately, I couldn't resist when I found this: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150320812480Another NM set of Civil War #1-7 PLUS the Wizard World variant of Captain America #25 (signed by Ed Brubaker) for $19.95 shipped. I mainly bought this for the Cap #25, as I've wanted one, but have seen copies listed in eBay stores at $80-$90. The books arrived today, it looked like someone poured something on the outside of the bubble mailer, but the books inside were luckily not damaged.
