Today's background of the day made me come up with this and I will show it below. It's an old Charlton and there have been more than a few Charltons Ive had that have ended up in department store value packs or isles with stickers on them. This one in particular has a sticker on it that said 6 for $1. I wish I could find this store! Anyway. The sticker bothered me. Ive done it before. Many times actually. If there is a sticker on a comic, I will carefully peel it away. Some come off easily, some take a long time and a lot of careful picking away as some seem adhered to the comic like concrete. I will say, I have rarely caused more damage to the book doing this. In some cases I can get the sticker off and you cannot tell it was ever there. Unfortunately on this one, it came off nice and easy, but it was like the rest of the book faded in color and this one little square didnt. If you look right below the logo, you should be able to easily see it. Basically it still looks like the sticker is there. But in my mind, I like it better without the sticker than I did with it there. Do any of you guys try things like this? Successful? Any horror stories? And lastly, is this a form of restoration?
