Did everyone here hate the Clone saga? I actually liked it quite a bit until toward the end when they tried to say Ben Reilly was the real Spider-Man. That wasn't too bright to do that. Ben Reilly will appear in Spider-Man/X-Men 3 in January, and I may pick it up...

MOE I thought some of the earlier stories were pretty good. Parts of it stunk. Just my opinion.

I never read the saga, so I couldnt give an honest opinion of the series. All I can say is I remember when it came out it pissed a lot of people off. I also remember it was about that point I started really losing both interest and understanding of the character. Before that series, I totally understood the character. Even though I never read the story I can tell I hate the confusion it brought more than I would have probably hated the story itself. I hate when a character Ive always known has lost me. Its like a giving up point rather than an entry point.

Its like a giving up point rather than an entry point. They just switched it up to prolong the sales it was generating. The story should have been resolved and put to rest, but then an issue would come out and change everything you knew to be true. The next few issues would change things even more. To this day I cringe if a movie trailer says it "changes everything you know". MOE

I am one of the ones who liked it a lot. I remember trying to get to the comic shops so I wouldn't miss an issue. I thought Ben was a cool fresh take on the Spider-Man character. I was upset when they killed him the way they did. I even liked the change in the costume when he did become Spider-Man.
How is he going to be appearing in Spider-Man/X-Men if he died? And why would they want to have him in it if most people hated him?

I know there is a base of fans that still like Ben Reilly and there is even a petition to bring him back, but I can't really speak to why he's appearing in this story. Hey, they brought the original New Universe back in a series of one-shots and back-ups a couple years ago, and if that can happen, they certainly could bring anyone back, at least in some capacity.

I'd love to read this and maybe one day I will and thanks for posting it for those who do want to and will. But being 35 parts is kind of intimidating to me. Which must explain how Spiderman got confusing in the 1st place if it takes 35 parts to sort it out.
