The Clone Saga seemed like a story that got away from itself and Marvel never could find a satisfactory ending. There were a few good stories I loved the "death of Aunt May" it was one of the most beautiful Spider-Man stories ever written. I loved the idea of Spider-Man becoming a parent this was something I thought was long overdue for Peter and Mary Jane. I loved the mini-series Spider-Man: Redemption a story about Reily's true love coming to New York City trying to escape her past and how Reily who was trying to rebuild his life and how their love nearly destroys his new life. The amazing thing was that Ben Reily as Spider-Man only appears at the last few pages of the final issue it's really a Ben Reily story and of course there was 101 Ways to End The Clone Saga which was a very entertaining and funny book about all the ways that the writers and editors came up with to end The Clone Saga.
Some of the stories were just dreadful like Maximum Clonage and The Final Chapter.

One is the claim of "The Clone saga as it was Originally meant to be told".....uh, what stopped them from telling it this way the 1st time? 2.....Not sure a good selling point if "From the artist the introduced Spider-Man to Obama" is noteworthy to selling the Clone Saga as it was meant to be told.

I agree, although maybe it couldn't hurt.

The clone saga is the worst storyline to ever be released. It's not as if they couldn't have closed it years ago with a logical ending, Marvel prolonged it on purpose trying to milk sales out of it. Revisiting this debacle is idiotic. The clone saga is the reason I quit buying Marvel comics. I have zero interest in reading more about Ben Reilly.... ever. Pulling this storyline out is just an act of desperation. More "shock" for the sake of shock. Should we expect a Michael Jackson storyline soon? Maybe Michael was cloned too.

I've never read the clone saga so I cannot personally quote what I thought about it, however I do remember this as a point where a lot of lifelong readers of the title jumped ship and confusion entered a character line and storyline that was pretty clear cut and easy to understand and follow at any point you jumped in. I have tons of Spider-Mans, but it seems like its a "Before Clone Saga" After Clone Saga" variety with the Before model winning out hands down. I have to say I don't even begin to understand Spider-Man anymore.

It was like a story that was winding to the end, but then it geared back up and it keeps going. Everything that made logical sense was purposely flipped upside down so that there was no way to make sense out of anything they were writing. They didn't do a false ending once, they did it several times. Everytime they did it got worse and worse. You didn't miss anything.

Marvel should have left the Clone Saga dead and buried.

I might actually care if I ever intended to read the title again.
