It seems every Valiant fan he labeled themselves a fan and collected the books has at one time or another put this as a goal. To own them all. Im not talking about complete with a Bloodshot #0 Platinum Error variant because that just is like impossible. But complete in owning every issue and maybe all the special realistic variants they had. What was it, like 670 issues? I dont know, I havent been to valiantfans.com in a long, long time. But I do know a few guys over there had full collections. Some a few times over. Did any of you guys accomplish the feat?
Im probably about 2/3rds there. I think the toughest book left for me is like a CEAR. I think if I ever got one of those, I might actually go for it. But, I kind of lost interest in collecting Valiants like a year or so ago and havent picked up but like 1 or 2 here or there.
Getting a complete collection seems doable to me. I just wonder is it worth it?

I never had or will own a complete Valiant set. Same here, that sums it up quite well.

Other than Harbinger #0, I have pretty much a near complete run of Pre-Unity Valiant and as far I'm concerned that is all of Valiant I need and want.

Other than Harbinger #0, I have pretty much a near complete run of Pre-Unity Valiant and as far I'm concerned that is all of Valiant I need and want. I had a pre-unity Valiant run completed in duplicate back when the last issues were just finishing. I had about 6 Magnus #12's at the time and got $90 in trade credit everywhere I went for any book I wanted. Not to mention all the others I had in multiples. I had a full run of X-O Manowar shortly after the series got canceled. I bought the full run of post unity books for a dime a piece. I also bought out a couple of stores on their Valiant stock so I had near complete runs of everything for a dime a piece. The only books I avoided buying were the overproduced ones because they aren't worth even a penny as far as I'm concerned. Defiant1

When Valiant was coming out and was new....at one point, I owned the entire set of what existed at that time and had tons of duplicates. I would sell a lot of them and trade a lot of them and then when I knew the end was near, I blew them all out at rock bottom prices while the getting was good and was totally cleaned out.
In the early part of this decade, I got interested in them again. Later at mid decade, I got even more into them with the help of valiantfans.com. But at that point I tried collecting only Pre-Unities and other special books like last issues.
A year ago, I started selling books and Valiants were the 1st area I looked to sell. Unfortunately, they just don't hold the same appeal to me. I still have a ton of duplicates and it doesn't hurt me when I sell them.
I figure I'll always pick up the good ones if the price is right here and there. But the desire to own a complete set really doesn't exist.
