Im out of the loop on these things, but I was just noticing my comic news widget (which sometimes has some decent stuff) made reference to this director turning down a chance to do the JLA movie. Pardon my lack of news, but I didnt know there was a JLA movie in the works. I think it could be good because you could get all of DC's biggest characters on 1 screen. He turned it down because he said it wouldnt have been as good as X-Men. Well, maybe they should look into that and do something to make it as good as X-Men if not better. But, I kind of like the idea for a JLA movie. Maybe I heard a chirp about it before, but I usually dont get into listening to it until actual hiring and shooting starts. Then you know its might be happening. Anyway, here is the quip if you're interested. www.slashfilm.com/2008/04/10/jason-reitman-turns-down-justice-league/Thoughts?

They had one in the works before the writers strike. I'm glad it got stopped. The casting was bad. They weren't even going to use the same guys that are currently playing Superman and Batman. I think before they make a JLA movie they should just make a Superman/Batman movie to start to get a feel of the characters together. Maybe from that they could expand. Maybe introduce something towards the end of the film that would have them need help and lead into the JLA film.
Start it slow and work it's way up idea.

Well, it seems pretty clear, it wasnt going to be a worthy effort and therefore, the director didnt want part of it to ruin his name. I also dont like the idea of them not using the usual Batman and Superman (unless they plan on replacing those dudes anyway), but I do like the idea of a JLA movie. A Superman/Batman movie wouldnt be....bad....but, I think they need to expand beyond them too. JLA is a great vehicle for that. Get Flash, Wonder Woman and a few others involved beside Batman and Superman. I think it could be damn cool. Just as long as it aint so dang cheesy.
