Maybe this has been discussed on other boards. I would imagine it has but I dont know, because I havent been to too many lately. Regardless, I wonder what the consensus thinks.
When you put a comic on ebay, you generally have 2 choices. Straight up auctions hoping for the highest bidder, or Buy It Now or BIN for short. Do you have a strategy on which is better when? Do you use both or stick strictly with one over the other? Or, is it just common sense such as if you have something you know is hot you put it up for auction because there is a demand? And BIN's are basically standard stock that you're happy to get a specific price on it and that's that?
Im going to bet the latter is the most common. But I wonder if Im just not thinking about it deep enough and there are other reasons or strategies at play here? Or nope, that's about it?
So, just to see what other people think and do, I ask you what do you think and do?

I don't typically use Buy It Now. Once in a while, I've stuck a BIN in with an auction listing, but usually someone pops it by making a bid, wasting the initial small investment it costs to list with a BIN.

I've pretty much been the same way except for the brief period of time when I had my own ebay store which is pretty much run off of buy it nows. You actually throw auctions up to attract attention to your store which is full of buy it nows.
I hate guessing what someone might have paid for an item. Then again, I think for junk books, I think its a good thing because you can put up a price you would be happy with getting and if it sells, then you're happy with the outcome. But generally, you always wonder if you could have done better with an auction.
