It seems every year Black Friday gets worse and worse and brings out the worst in people. I've gotten to where I refuse to shop on this day. It's not worth it. Just reading the ads are enough to keep me away. Check out the fliers in the newspaper the day before. There is always these specials that seem like a good deal. And then down in fine print, it will say something like "At least 3 of this item will be at every store". So here is a flier with specials in it that only a handful of people are going to actually be able to benefit from. So it creates a frenzy atmosphere that everyone has to be there when the doors open. 5am, 4am....so on. Heck, we had a place that started black Friday at 10pm on Thursday night! The other places, people camp out. Why, to get a 50 inch plasma that you can buy from now until Xmas easily for $1000 or less for $800? So all these throngs wait impatiently camping out all night, in the late fall. Some of these places have to be cold. And then the moment comes for the doors to open and something like this happens. Even after knocking the man to his death, they did nothing but step over him and pummel people who were trying to help the man. Witnesses say the people were like savages! When told the Wal-Mart was closing because the police needed to investigate, the shoppers yelled "Ive been waiting all night!" and kept shopping. Its sickening. The last time I did brave black Friday, the lines to cash out were so long (literally like an amusement park ride line) I gave up. It's just not worth it to save $20 - $200 in one day. People are dying over this stupidity. There needs to be better sales than "at least 3 available per store". This is a created mentality. They need to add some rules to it. Because this is just sick. And it wouldnt surprise me if it happens somewhere again next year.
