Batman 681 is hitting the stands this Wednesday, I believe, unless changes have been made to its' shipping schedule again that I'm unaware of. There's supposed to be something big going down that issue. A google search for Batman 681 spoilers makes interesting reading... io9.com/5062389/batman-rip-+-who-dies-and-whodunnit

Thanks for this Starbrand. Im always interested in the speculating stuff you bring to the table. KEEP THEM COMING!!! Problem is, Im always a day late on this stuff. I wish I knew in advance. Like ordering time advance. Thats a long lost art for me. I was starting to get a feel for comics again. Only to a small degree, but it was starting to happen. But, since I cannot REALLY buy comics these days, I'm still grasping at what REALLY is going on with comics. One of these days, Im going to be in the know again. But it isnt going to be any time soon.

Who do you think is the front runner and that will make what book a sleeper? I'm honestly not sure. dick Grayson fist appeared as Batman is issue 512, so that could be a good book if he returns in the role. I find the article I've linked to below to be interesting. You'll note that Neil Gaimen is writing a two-issue Batman story that's compared to the Alan Moore two-part Superman story from 1986. This could lead to a Batman retooling and possible new number one issue of Batman. Just my own speculation. I'll probably look foolish for posting that, but when has looking foolish ever stopped me from posting something before? lol In any event, I think the comparison between the Gaimen Batman story and the Moore Superman story may be a key point. Here's the quote from the article I'm speaking of for those who don't wish to follow the link. "DC Comics asked writer Alan Moore, creator of Watchmen, to similarly wrap up Superman's first half-century with Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? in 1986. The character was retooled shortly thereafter." Could this lead to a new Batman number 1??? www.usatoday.com/life/books/news/2008-11-17-batman-gaiman_N.htm

Everything sounds cool except Batman starting over again with a new #1.
I hate numbering resets on long established characters. It's just me. I understand the value of adding new #1's and getting fresh money. But the collector in me that tries to get as much of an ongoing collection as possible hates it because its no longer the current title.

I'm just wondering if that's where this is going.
