Happy New Years 2009 People!!! Well a new year has begun. 2008 is now officially behind us and me personally, I prefer to leave it there. Im looking forward to 2009 and hoping for the best because 2008 was probably one of my worst years in a long, long time. So naturally, I was ready for 2008 to be over and be optimistic about 2009. Im hoping going into 2010, Im in a better place in life than I am now. That is the goal. As far as comics, it was a pretty good year at least there. I had double the enjoyment as the year before, but it ended prematurely in the comics department and kept me from having a home run of a year. The board celebrates it 1st complete calendar year. Earlier on New Years Eve, Yesterday, I went back and found the post for Happy 2008 and I came into 2008 much the same way as I do 2009. I had claimed that 2007 wasnt all that good to me either. Well, I think in retrospect, 2007 now seems like a very good year. The board started 2008 with 1613 posts. We start 2009 with 4820. So doing the math, it appears there was 3207 posts in 2008. Im pretty happy with that. I would be happy if we could do that again in 2009. Looking how we enter this year, Im not sure we can. But, we'll see how it goes. Its just good at this point to have 1 full calendar year under my belt. Anyway, anybody got any resolutions? Share it here! Regardless, I wish all who stop by a great New Year and I hope to see each of you often. As always, I appreciate you being here! Happy 2009!!!

Happy New Year!
My resolution for now as far as comics is to stop spending, at least for the current time. I have spent way too much money, and my last credit card bill was basically the last straw. I'm going to attempt to sell on a regular basis, even though now is not a great time because of the economy.

I share that sentiment brotherj. I wish I could actually spend on comics. But its a priority thing. As I am sure it is with you. Ive been slacking on ebay lately. I put up about 75 books before Xmas and got burned out doing it. Im just about ready to put another batch up. Perhaps an Obama rally, maybe some sort of stimulus and tax season will help the buying conditions. Although I think 2009 will have a rough start, I cannot see it being as bad overall as 2008 which was a total bust. It devastated my stocks and 401k. This bear market will hopefully bottom out and hopefully by year end the market and overall economy is looking a little bit better.
