As an admin, Im having a hard time saying this. But, I may have a hard time posting much for the next few days. I am totally bogged down from my work at the moment. Just like many people's rent, I have until the 5th of the month to finish last month's responsibilities. Unfortunately for me, my work load increased about 30% over the previous month. Ive had a sick day (still kind of ill), a planned day off and a couple of holidays which decimated last month. As a first, I brought my work home with me and I am actually working in front of my computer now instead of posting on my board which is really a killer because I see some posts I would like to respond to.
Needless to say, I am very likely not to finish my duties, which will be a 1st since I took over my position last February and it kind of hurts my pride. That is why I am trying to work at home (which sadly has no pay here). My only hope is to have productive days today and tomorrow. Work at night at home after doing OT each night. And then beg to work all day Saturday, my day off. If I can manage that, I might be able to finish or at least give it a respectable finish to where I dont look too bad. But, it does bother me to be in this position. Anyway, you may notice my name logged onto the page at the bottom of the screen. I generally have my board minimized at work or at home. But more than usual, I wont be able to really post as much as usual.
Please, carry on and continue to post if you will. I really enjoy the activity. Once the 5th has passed, I get the luxury of doing it again this month with the same exact workload (ugh). But, at least for a week or two, I might be able to breath enough to post more than now.

I won't post details online, but my first day back was called short and I've been at a loved one's side at the hospital most of the day. Took a short break to read email and get a bite to eat, other than that I didn't get home until 2AM. Not sure if I'm going to work tomorrow or not. C, I hope all goes well for you. Sorry to hear of your experience. Yes, I would say your start of the year was worse than mine. Take care and I hope things get back to normal for you asap.

Ugh! I am so very tired these days. Well, I hate leaving my site like I have been and not posting, but Im seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Ive been working overtime all week at work and then coming home and working at home until 12 each night. Going to bed and repeating. We thankfully have weekends off where I work (the last position I had there, that was not the case). But I have technically until the 5th to finish my month's deadlines. As of tonight, I am in realistic striking distance. I had to ask to work on Saturday which I really dont want to do, but I have to to finish. I fully expect to finish before I leave tomorrow night. This will keep my streak of not missing a deadline alive. I just dont want to miss it. So, hopefully tomorrow night, I can come home and chill out. Anyway, Ive missed posting here, there and everywhere. I get to start all over and do it again Monday. But at least at the beginning of the month, you dont realize how far behind you are yet. So, I will be getting back on more after that. It was good to see some posts today. Yesterday was quiet. Even though I havent been posting, I still look when I have a brief few seconds from work. When I seen posts today, it was like a bright spot. Anyway, forgive my absence for another day. I'll get back to work on the board then. In the meantime, you guys take it easy.  -gowaltrip |

You do realize that if you meet your goals this month, someone will assume you are able to do more next month.
The health concern I was dealing with appears to have stabilized. I have to work tomorrow to make up the time I left on Wednesday.
Thank heavens everything was easy when I got back.

Thats good news.

I think if I can handle last month and this month, it should be at a point where it is leveling off. I sure hope so....everyone on my team couldnt possibly do more. We all work just about everyday open to close. Maybe leave an hour early. But 8 hrs a day just wouldnt cut it. Sometimes that is one thing I miss. But, the money is good.

We all work just about everyday open to close. Maybe leave an hour early. But 8 hrs a day just wouldnt cut it. Sometimes that is one thing I miss. But, the money is good. I made an extra $15,000 by working overtime last year. I had refused the year before. I know that affects their budget though. I'd rather be the one averaging a lower rate of pay and keep job securiity. I make top pay. I make a bonus rate above to pay. I'm an expensive employee. I prefer for all the new guys to work the overtime so their rate of pay gets closer to mine. I prefer to be the problem solver that is earning his rate of pay and making other people's job easier. Off to work 5 hours on Saturday to make up the time I spent at the hospital Wednesday. I'm going in late in hopes that everyone else will be gone. cfs |

Well, I pretty much finished what I needed to finish. It didnt make for a good week. Im pretty tired. Im going to sleep late tomorrow and totally chill. Since its back to work on Monday, I dont want to do anything tomorrow. Eating something is about the most I want to accomplish tomorrow.

Well, Im back to the end of the month catch-up phase again, so I will be pretty much non-existant for the next week. I might post here and there, but if I do, I will probably be sneaking it in at work.
Today is the 30th and I have only met 38% of my responsibilities. Im back to 12 hr days (I had been working 10 all month). Im working all day this Sunday. Saturday Im taking my mom out for her birthday. I have until the 5th to finish my work. By next Friday, Im going to be pretty burned out.
Needless to say, the board takes a back seat at this time. Hasnt been hardly any activity lately anyway. I will keep with the background of the day. Its hard to consider my site a success until it carries on without me. So, obviously a lot of work left to do there as well. I think when I finally get to that Friday, Im going to reward myself with more comic shopping. Isnt it odd that comic shopping is a reward to yourself? I just ask for the little things in life.
If anyone wants to post, please do. I need the discussion and the traffic and the inspiration. Posts are motivational for me.

Once again the end of the month has me tied down and unable to say very much lately. Although I am not quite as bad off as last month which was the worst month Ive had since I started this position, I am still behind a good deal and will be burning the hours trying to get it all done. It seems reachable this time, but 1 bad day and I'll be grasping at straws. I rather hate working this hard at the end and beginning of the month. I have until the 5th (Next Wednesday) to finish. So between now and then, Im not going to be posting much. That said, I appreciate any of the slack you can help pick up for me and keep my board happening. Any contribution you make will make my board that much better. Once I get beyond the 5th, I'll be back posting as normal. Im really just kind of burned out about everything these days....  |
