This new costume sucks. Its garbage from the get go. The lasso is fine with me and it was put in by her actual creator, who as it happens also invented the Lie detector. The Invisible plane never worked for me, I mean how do you see the instruments? On my facebook page, I put a photo manipulation that to me is how her costume should have always looked and should continue to look. Here it is. www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?pid=424341&id=100000151844516 I agree with that article you posted GW.

BigW, you should know by now that Message Board types are lazy and never place a link where they might not look when you can bring the picture over yourself and make them see it. (j/k) To make things easier, I brought the picture over here and although I don't think this is perfect, I think its a hell of a lot better than this new Wonder Woman look.

I've seen people left and right putting down the jacket. This new image looks stupid to me because of the tights. For an Amazon, she always has been kind of short. In this new picture she's tall but extremely thin. I like the 70's issues with the white outfit. When I was a kid, I didn't understand it... but I do now.

I really don't mind the issues where she forfeited the Wonder Woman uniform back in the early Bronze Age. Those issues have their own aura about them, are hard to track down in number and can run you a bit of change. I have a couple and they are pretty cool in their own way. The thing that is different is she pretty much got out of wearing her uniform and just stuck with her own outfits. That was kinda unique. This uniform today is pretty much Wonder Woman keeping a uniform, but changing the look entirely. I just think it blows. If you took the Jacket off, it still blows, it just blows slightly less. You can say the original Wonder Woman uniform was outdated, but with modernizing tweaks, it has stood the test of time. Take a look at that image by Alex Ross on the bottom of that article I posted. That looks fucking sweet! It IS Wonder Woman. I cannot even picture the new uniform coming anywhere close to that. I don't care who draws it. It ain't gonna live up.
This seems more like a stroking of an ego. An opportunity to pat yourself on the back because you overhauled the iconic look of Wonder Woman. As I've seen other comments like....
She looks like she is going to the Club.
or....
I showed it to my girlfriend and she said "Who is that?" and I said "EXACTLY"!!!!
I just don't get where a group of hard core management creators sat down and looked and said "That's the direction we need to go in".
The fact it made it out to print makes me roll my eyes not so much at Wonder Woman, but to DC itself.
Someone chimed elsewhere saying "Even bad publicity it good publicity" to which someone replied "Try telling that to BP".
I don't know, this costume change is up there with Magneto's purple "M" outfit of the late 80s.
Every time I see it I like it less than the time before. That's awesome in itself.

I never thought Wonder Woman had much sales appeal the way she has always was. This here would ruin one aspect she does have and that is sex appeal. I think I prefer Cyber's version. Let her come out as a fur munching lesbian with a Amazon collection of strap ons and vibrators using her magic lasso to reveal who else is a closet lesbian. Wonder Woman could turn out to be the freak of the DC universe. Well I couldn't that far, but as far her sexuality she could easily be a bisexual (meaning she likes men and women) and it would play into her origin that growing up on a island filled with nothing but women it would be my guess is that her first love and/or sexual experience was with a woman. While she may have met Aquaman when she was 11 or so in either the Wonder Woman or Aquaman "Year One" theme annual years ago revealed that they met before she officially left the island (if that hasn't been written out of the DCU), so she might have left a former lover she behind and she is pissed off by being jilted for Aquaman, Batman, or whoever she's dating these days. I'm not saying that this should be done just to boost sales but if told by a great writer it would make a one of hell read.

GW I don't think it is perfect either but that Uniform is far more believable than most anything she has ever appeared in. It looks practical. Has the warrior and greco/Roman feel to it, and looks like it could take some damage. And the actress is pretty hot.
The costume you pointed out of Ross's is not her original look. she started off in a skirt that turned into bicycle shorts and then became panties. That link I posted on facebook already has some better approaches that what Lee did.

Has the warrior and greco/Roman feel to it, and looks like it could take some damage. And the actress is pretty hot. I think you took me a bit wrong. I agree with all of that. I think the uniform works, reminds me of something Perez would do. Does indeed have the Greco/Roman feel which also works. The chick is also pretty nice and looks shapely like I would expect Wonder Woman to look. It stays true enough to the original. And it looks battle ready. What's not to like? I think at the time, I said it's not perfect, but I pretty much like it. Let that comment be a lot more positive than it first sounded to you. The costume you pointed out of Ross's is not her original look. she started off in a skirt that turned into bicycle shorts and then became panties. Come on Mike, give me a LITTLE credit will ya? I think I referenced that the original has "modernizing tweaks" and look at how awesome it looks when Alex Ross did it. Trust me, I've seen and can fully visualize Golden Age Wonder Woman. The "MODERN" version Ross did kicks royal ass! The progression from Golden to Modern has worked rather well and when in the hands of a master such as Ross, can look outstanding. My point was I can't see the new version coming close to this look no matter who draws it.

Have anyone heard about Wonder Woman's "new" origin which is supposed to be the reason for the new costume.
