I was watching the basketball playoffs the other night on TNT and they had a promotional commercial featuring Charles Barkley and the rest of the TNT analyst broadcast team. Charles is there and another guy is saying "You get him to the outside and he is ineffective". So the lead analyst walks in and goes "You talking about Lebron James how he's not affective when he's not near the hoop?" and the guy goes "No, Charles says Wolverine is the toughest X-Man and I say it's Gambit" and goes on to say why he thinks Gambit is the strongest (Strange why they chose Gambit) to which Charles goes "Blah, Blah, Blah". "All I'm saying is if I had Wolverines claws I would have had 5 more rebounds a game". To which the other guy goes "If you had his claws you would have cut your arms off opening up some Twinkies". At that point Charles pops out with some Wolverine claws and shocks everyone and the commercial ends.
It was a pretty corny commercial. But I always think it is neat when comics are put into the spotlight on TV in ways you wouldn't think. I wouldnt think of comic books watching basketball and yet there it was. They never actually promote the movie with any scenes from it or anything. They just play up Wolverine talk and leave it at that. It was kind of a surreal commercial if I ever seen one.
