Here's a link to my favorite comic book related blog. Spending a few minutes here each day has become the most fun I have in comics at the moment. Plus, it's definately far out, man! diversionsofthegroovykind.blogspot.com/

Took a quick gander at it and it seemed pretty cool I must admit. The comic works he is displaying seem right up my alley. Just looking at the screen shots of various pages I was getting nostalgic over comics I loved and the feelings I used to get looking at them growing up. I swear, I never feel the same dynamics with today's technically better but far less imaginative comics. I may end up linking this at the top of the page so its easy for everyone who wants to go there to get to. Thanks for the post bro!

I just go there for a few minutes each day. That's all it takes to read the blog and the comic story or part of story Lloyd put up. It's almost always cool stuff. If you link it let me know. I'm not overly perceptive and may not notice you do that otherwise. Thanks!

I see today he's posted a bunch of Steranko splash pages. I've always loved Steranko's art.

Today has a six page story drawn by Marshall Rogers and Terry Austin. It was a Detective backup and features Rogers' first work and a character he created. Check it out if you get a chance! I try to take the few minutes a day to read whatever story Lloyd has put up. It's well worth it!

I went ahead and added the link to the quick links menu at top. I have to admit that every time I do look, he has stuff that caters to my interests in comics. So many times I see blogs or boards or other sites catering to new stuff or comics in general that to me were all flash and no substance. This guy seems to get what I liked so much about comics. Comics like this seem gone to me. And I have to admit I enjoyed them so much more than the drek being produced today.

I'd much rather read most of this stuff than most of the stuff they're putting out today. I also have no problem reading online, especially since these are shorter stories. Plus, the price is right, eh?

Lloyd runs decent blog if you want to read comics online, but that doesn't interest me much. Also, a lot of his stuff is either things I've already read or things I've decided I don't want to read. I guess he's targeting older readers, bit if so I'm sure a portion probably feel as I do. None of the Red Lion publicity interests me in the least and that's fine. I wish them luck. In my mind I'm baffled about who they are trying to reach. The indy market is very tough. Even if they use familiar names in the industry, I have not seen them use a name that sells books. Meaning that Steve Skeates may be a long time creator with a lot of credits, but I hadn't even heard of the guy. I'm saying this here rather than on Mark's board because I'm sure Mark would like all the discussion to be positive. Wishful thinking does not change the truth. Without an added edge like IDW getting Byrne or licensing a well know TV/movie character or series.... indy companies are just throwing money down the drain. That's my opinion. Print on Demand services can take the cost of physical printing out of the equation, but it doesn't eliminate production costs. All I can say is good luck to Lloyd. He'll need it.

I'm not much for reading blogs. I find I like the interactivity of message boards much better because I tend not to agree with every thought someone has, no matter what the subject or logic is. I just find its better to have a lot of points of view, rather than just one.
That being said, I'm not into reading comics online either, but I don't mind looking at the groovy pictures. I hate to say it, but this is the kind of stuff that made me interested in comics as a kid. There is both an innocence to it because the modern day "adultizing" hasn't taken place yet. But I also find the art of those days extremely dynamically appealing. And that's what I tend to like about this blog.
Im not really reading anything here. Including the articles he writes. Im not visiting daily either. I just stop by once in awhile and look at the pictures. I typically like what I see. Brings back memories of types of comics I miss and then I leave.
That's about all I care to ask of it.
