You know, from the very beginning, one of my all-time favorite comic advertisements I would love to see is those pages that showed other covers that a company had out that month. I don't care who it was, Marvel, DC, Charlton heck even Harvey and Archie had comic advertisements showing other covers and it made me look and see which ones I wanted or wished I had. It always made me feel like I was missing out on something. Sure, there was always a few I didn't want, but usually there was a few that just stood out and I would think "I want that!".
Sadly, this seems like something I don't see much anymore. For me, it was always part of the charm of collecting comics. All comics had advertisements. These were always my favorite advertisements.

I liked the little checklists in the Marvel comics. I like the "original" covers they showed in the X-Men reprint books. I like any little text telling me what was going on in the other comics. defiant1

I also miss the Bulletin Pages, I think early on I skipped a lot of that but then I got more and more into it as time went by. I actually liked DC's Bulletin page too when they had "Ask the Answer Man" and also "Hembeck" cartoons. I think they named their Bulletin page DC Currents or Direct Currents, not sure which it was. I remember they made it like a newspaper showing Volume and Issue number. I used to want to see which one was the 1st one. Somehow I don't think they were numbered correctly. Instead of having a #1, I think they just chose some number that made them look like they had been doing it awhile and then kept going up from there. Of course, this was a copy of Marvels superior Bullpen Bulletins, but in the late 70s and early 80s, DC made a good run at Bulletin pages. I miss that kind of stuff. Actually I think Shooter did an awesome Bulletin page with Valiant. He was so good at it, he inspired you to want more Valiant comics. Is there any Bulletin pages today? Im not really sure....

I don't think there are bulletin pages anymore, besides maybe a snarky "Cup 'o Joe" here and again. DC had an "intern" who wrote a page of DC press a couple years back... they still might, for all I know.
The saddest thing about all this is the fact that they really can't show other books covers as a way to excite potential readers... covers today don't SAY anything.
It's like... Ooooh, look at that New Avengers cover where the team is standing at 3/4 view with badass looks on their face. Wait, didn't I already buy that one? Three times?
Or, wow... it's like a cover out of the 60's... but their ZOMBIES (or Skrulls)... oooh.
I definitely miss the old "bullpenny" days of comics... where you'd want to actually work with these crazy characters (the creators) rather than punch them in the face.
