Mass Effect is my favorite video game of all time and if you love sci-fi and you haven't played go play it now! It's on the Xbox 360 and PC. Now Dark Horse is releasing Mass Effect: Redemption move over Jim Shooter, Solar, Turok, Magnus, Star Wars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Serenity this is the DH title that I want to read...NOW!

Whats the summary on this one? Never heard of it myself and I have a kid with 4 game consoles and a serious problem. Mass Effect is a futuristic sci-fi action role playing game where the gamer plays Commander Shepard (who pick Shepard's gender, looks, skills, back story, and psychological background) who becomes the first human Specter (think a cross between James Bond and a Jedi Knight) as you track down Saren a rouge turian Specter who has allied himself with the geth a race synthetic lifeforms looking for the Conduit for reasons who have to play the game for. You pick up others who help you in the quest to stop Saren. The game setting is a great blend of very best elements of Star Wars, Star Trek, and Battlestar Galactica. You can play Shepard as a Paragon (a nice person who goes out their way to help people and save lives) or as a Renegade (a ruthless cold-hearted bastard that will only help out humans) there are a lot of story elements that have a lot moral ambiguity and the decisions you make in Mass Effect 1 carry over in Mass Effect 2 and affect that game (or at least that is what Bioware, the company making the games are saying). The graphics on the Xbox 360 are great (although there some problems with popping and frame rates dropping if you have new XBL feature and install it too the 360's HD this problem is greatly reduced) with a top voice cast that includes: Keith David (from John Carpenter's The Thing), Seth Green (from Buffy, the Vampire Slayer and Robot Chicken), Marina Sirtis (from Star Trek: The Next Generation), Armin Shimmerman (from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Buffy, the Vampire Slayer) Lance Henederskin (from Aliens and Millennium) and Jennifer Hale (from Justice League Unlimited) as the voice of the female Shepard. This is a game that I have played and beaten about 20 times and every time I play it, it's always a new experience. The game is rated M and is not something I recommend for kids under 15.
