I've been a Blues fan my whole life but have adopted my hometown Coyotes as well. It's very tough to root for the Coyotes at the moment. I hope Phoenix doesn't lose them.

As an aside about the Coyotes, I heard last night they're expected to lose 10 million dollars a month this year. They have no corporate sponsors because no one knew where they'd be playng this year until recently, and few seaosn ticket holders for the same reason. I'm not hopeful about their future here in Phoenix.

I seen ESPN say they think the NHL will eventually have to take them over and float them along until they can find a buyer and a better situation to help them get back on their feet again. Although the upcoming season seems brutal, they doubted that the team would fold or be run out of town this year. Basically it sounded like they needed to be bailed out and that is why they believed eventually the NHL would own them.

They just announced their TV schedule yesterday, one day before the season starts. There will be 50 games televised, which is better than I'd hoped for.

I was also glad the Coyotes games will be on local radio. They just announced that a couple days ago. I'll be listening to the game tonight, though I may go back and forth between that and the ASU game.

I haven't looked at this year's NHL schedule in depth, but so far they seem afraid to schedule games on Sundays and go against the NFL. I thought that strange, but maybe it makes sense. They know their numbers on Sundays from previous years.

I haven't looked at this year's NHL schedule in depth, but so far they seem afraid to schedule games on Sundays and go against the NFL. I thought that strange, but maybe it makes sense. They know their numbers on Sundays from previous years. That sounds smart to me. NHL cannot compete with NFL in any shape or form. Not only that, but most races are on Sunday as well as Basketball is starting up and they tend to like to have their marque games on Sundays. NHL always seems like a good weeknight prime-time player. You could be flipping channels and suddenly see your team on like a Tuesday night and there is not much competition to take you away. Its a working man's sport made for weeknight relaxation. I think knowing their place in sports is a good business move.
