The greatest artist of his generation.
If you don't believe me check out his runs on Desperadoes, Planetary, Captain America, and oh yeah a little title called The Astonishing X-Men (IMHO his 25 issue run with along writer Joss Whedon is the GREATEST X-Men story ever).
His work smooth and detailed and the action is easy understand the characters look real and believable especially the way he draws women (and they actually IMHO look hotter because they're not big boobs, long legs, and no waists).

The greatest artist of his generation. I haven't been exposed to enough of his art to share the same sentiment. I did go to his website and check out some samples here... www.johncassaday.com/While at 1st glance I wasn't feeling like he was the greatest artist of this generation, I did feel like he was certainly worthy of looking at. Since I'm getting back into buying new comics again for the 1st time in 16 months, I will say that I will try and pick up a few of his works in the future from time to time and judge for myself. I did find his work pleasing, but I also seen a few things that concerned me too. I think I just need to see some of his actual comics and then I'll have more of an opinion on him. As of now, I'll just say it's inconclusive for me, because there are a couple I like a bit better. But I'll give the guy a chance next time I see his name.

p.s. I always think it's great when members here post creators to write about. There may be some I am overlooking and I'm always glad when others point some out.

Love Cassadays work. I got him to do me a Cap sketch years ago. His work is clean and solid. He also inks his own work very well. The only negatives that I will put out there is he has a tendancy to make his characters a bit stumpy. something that I used to do a lot. Look at his covers to SWORD. especially that one that has 3 characters back to back to back on the cover.
I do agree that his women look good specifically because he doesn't draw them like plastic titted dancers.

To be honest, I didn't know he drew Planetary. He must be the reason I bought it as long as I did because the story moved at a snails pace. I can't stand modern comics. Even when they are interesting, there isn't enough entertainment value for the dollar or pace of the story to keep me interested.
