I thought the Chicago race was rather ho-hum as compared to the exciting race from Daytona the week before. It wasnt a bad race, but it lacked any real drama. I thought the early part was especially boring because there wasnt any cautions and many cars got a lap down quickly. Towards the end, it got more interesting. Im okay with Tony Stewart winning. He's been due. He'll probably get hot now as he usually does at the 2nd half of the season. Jimmy Johnson's crash was very surprising and hard. And seeing Dale Jr. struggle without power steering was pretty cool.
I think the race would have been a lot better with a few more crashes and/or cautions and there was a big lack of side by side racing. This was follow the leader stuff. They need to repave the track if it has gotten that bad.
2 stars (out of 5) in my opinion.
